I bought a Pettinhouse bundle a couple of years ago and honestly it’s my biggest regretful purchase. I was completely unimpressed, some of the libraries didn’t even have a GUI.
Signatures are so early 2000s.

I may have mistaken an in house cashback scheme (at a place I generally can’t buy from due to being in the UK) for yet another bitcoin scam.Insanelysane wrote: Fri Dec 25, 2020 2:40 amA bad experience using Best Service's cashback? There's a story behind your anger?!

Only thing we need is the positive "thumbs up"

I agree. If you have a dispute with a post then have the balls to comment or report it if necessary.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Even developers get thumbs down when posting good news like new features or updates. Wikipedia says the thumbs up gesture is a sign of contempt or disapproval in certain cultures in the world like Iran and Iraq. KVR is an international music forum, I'd change my perspective and take the thumbs down as a positive.an-electric-heart wrote: Fri Dec 25, 2020 3:09 amNo, it's like a game around here. Any time some one mentions the thumbs, the "down thumbs" are piled on, I'm just saying, I don't care about that, but I do want to discus the thumb thing, because it really doesn't mean anything at this stage.Fidelity wrote: Fri Dec 25, 2020 3:03 am Or maybe you need to accept that people don't necessarily like the same posts you like? Everyone gets thumbed down from time to time and I don't recall anyone being burned at the stake for a poorly rated forum post.
I'm not Pettinhouse by the way, I was using it as an example.

Once I made a post "I made a walk and had much sun today" and got a thumb-down. Probably someone who hates sun, I dunno.
But in case of sample libraries, I understand it as some people don't like them.

Most interesting thumb-down/-up thing was about the PPG Wave 3, I still don't know if it has more lovers than haters. I'd expect more lovers but in the end I didn't buy it because there are so many better wavetable synths. My deepest respect to Wolfgang Palm for inventing wavetable synthesis but his farewell was a bit grumpy with only a few words of thanks.

The only annoying thing about those thumbs is the endless useless discussion about them.
Wasn't this supposed to be a bargain discussion?
Now it's pages of brainless tea-leave reading why somebody on the internet may chose to click a visual representation of a hand made of digital pixels on a screen?
Really?

Also, afaict you don't get notified about it, and there's no 'score' somewhere of up-thumbs vs down-thumbs .. so ... just ignore it?ThomasHelzle wrote: Fri Dec 25, 2020 3:52 pm Now it's pages of brainless tea-leave reading why somebody on the internet may chose to click a visual representation of a hand made of digital pixels on a screen?
