I have 32GB RAM, so I should be covered on that front but unsure if my trusty old Core i7 2600K is up for the task.
Drumvolution runs better than Revolution funnily in Kontakt. Had problems with Kontakt 6 with them, runs good in 5.8.x
Currently I'm mostly using the Drumvolution/Revolution for Live, could get these for around 15€ as crossgrade from them.

Feature wise Drumvolution has more options and content, but also Revolution is great (has multisamples).

I currently have 16gb on both my machines (I7-2600k and I7-7700k), but IIRC it was also running earlier when I only had 8gb.

I have both of those libraries and they run completely fine on my 16GB RAM old computer in Kontakt 6. I've never had any issues, they are great libraries.

I used it a lot before I got Geist 2. It's a great groove box. There's this semi-controllable randomizer in it called MARIO with a quick workflow that I sometimes miss. I ditched it because well, Geist 2, and the Transfuser GUI isn't scalable.

Never had any issues either with a 16GB system. Always do a batch resave before you use Kontakt libraries.

No, next should be Summer of Sound sale in June.

Gribs wrote: Wed Dec 30, 2020 7:21 pm VST Buzz has Sample Fuel’s “Pad Motion 3.0” on sale for 39 pounds (about $53 right now). It is a library for Halion Sonic SE. I own a license for Halion 6 already.

Does anyone own this library? Other than the fact it is a scripted library for Halion Sonic 3 SE (free version of Halion Sonic 3), the library appears to function essentially as a stand-alone multi-layer synth running inside Halion Sonic with an insane quantity of presets and features. It is mostly a granular and wavetable library, and I know already that Steinberg’s granular engine is great. What I want to know is what is the quality of the library and what us your experience working with it?
Sanple Fuel is a sound designer en par with Luftrum. One of the absolute best imho. His libraries are outstanding, both in sound quality as well as functionality. He chose to publish everything in the Steinberg ecosystem. They run in the free Halion SE or, of course, in Halion 6. They do not run standalone. Be aware that these libraries are protected through the eLicenser system. You do not need a physical dongle but some people may find it off putting nonetheless. Sample Fuel has a few free libraries on his website. Just check them out, they provide a very good insight into quality and functionality of the full libraries.

I suppose that December 31st is the last day of most holyday sales.
I hope so.
I over spent but unfortunately have little regrets and no guilt feelings.
Next landmark for sales is January 18, 2021 when NAMM opens.

Revolution worked for me with 8 gig of RAM.

Does anyone know if the $149 price for Toontrack EZbass an introductory price that will end today? All resellers are offering it for $149 and I wonder if that's the actual price or if it will be raised from tomorrow.

The problem with drumvolution I'm having in kontakt 6 is, it loads the wrong page and does not start transport correctly when loading a saved project in live 10. I will try a resave but doubt that will help since it looks like a scripting compatibility problem between the verions.

Be careful. If you do a batch resave in Kontakt 6 you can no longer use it in Kontakt 5. You would have to reinstall it.

Don’t think it was on sale on release, think that’s its RRP

Okay, thanks. Although I see some shops advertising it as "$149 $179", e.g. Sweetwater. I am getting a good price (a little lower than $149) at Best Service and Time+Space right now and the urge is strong!
