but in this instance it's mainly frustrating seeing the amount of potential that maelda has to take over the audio industry and seeing steps not be taken, again I like the plugins more than any other company but I'm just one user I don't hold any sway over anybody
Why would you want any company to take over the audio industry? Monopolies are never good for anyone. It's pretty odd for a liberal to be pushing for one.

something like default preset doesn't seem to work too? I can save it as default but it does not get loaded as default... Possible in ProQ :D

If you want a certain setting on startup you have to go to Settings (top right corner) -> Global System Settings-> Set default setting
I see. Honestly I don't know the reason for having a default preset then. I think it's one of those things that are unnecessary complicated and obfuscated, only to make it different.
I know what you mean. This was exactly the reason I joined the forum in the first place. To find out how these plugins actually work. They are not the most intuitive at first glance but once you know your way around they all work the same. I learned a lot here because people in this forum are really helpful and Vojtech implements FRs and bugfixes at a pace I have not found at any other plugin company.

....Fabfilter and Native instruments already own the industry? They are seen in every studio on earth as is Izotope.....they have a monopoly.

Like I already said...Izotope, NI and Fabfilter already have monopoly. I would like to see melda replace them

I don't think this will ever happen with any company. If there would be one company liked and used by all, the industry would be dead. And you can see in this thread alone that it's not a marketing issue.

Please define what you think a monopoly is and with which plugin those companies have a monopoly.

Sure FabFilter are often first choice, but by far not a monopoly. They offer super clean sounding (though often not really sonically characteristc) and optimized plugins with almost perfect user experience - that's why they're in the making for long time and not spit out every week. But so does Toneboosters, HOFA, Sonalksis or even waves. iZotope too are not the only ones offering tool assisted plugins, but they do it the right way. NI has a big portfolio of plugins but so has uHe, BlueCatAudio or UAD. Valhalla has great reverbs, same for ArtsAcoustic, 2caudio or Lexicon. UVI is innovative, even more is Zynaptiq and some Cableguys products would fit in here too.

None of them have a monopoly in anything, there are always alternatives and many of those get used too. Especially since there are not many producers using plugins from one company only. And tbh why should they? It's boring, limiting and having a choice is a good thing.

Btw from the threads I read, meldaproduction plugins get recommended as well when someone is aksing (though it might not be the first thing mentioned or not that often), so "marketing" works. But OP still has the choice to decide against them and that's something you didn't seem to consider. You might think if people only knew about melda they would jump up in joy and sell all their other plugins. But reality is people know about melda (I think at least about some plugins, which isn't hard when there are 10 eqs alone :D ) and still take their chance of comparison & choice.

MSpectralDynamics was released in 2013. Smash Pro by Jeroen Breebaart (Toneboosters) was released
in 2009. Toneboosters Sibilance in 2015.
Oh, it has become an interesting thread. I'm just a curious guy who had less and less time for music-tech those last years. I've just 'started' learning. Funny, to read that trumpism thing. I've experienced a lot of flexibility, curiousity and movement and differentiated views in this place... My impression may be wrong. For me its just naive happiness, having these great tools....

B.T.W. My first dynamic EQ "'MOVEQ+" I built in 2006. At that time they were really rare...
http://www.derknott.de/scope/plugins.htm

At that time I had some discussions on that scope platform about some EQs which in marketing claimed somehow to be very special, but I could completely phasecancel them in tests. That discussions opened up my eyes and ears for so many things in life where we just want to believe the one or other thing. For the first time in my life I found people who became agressive and stated things that were obviously just to hold others down... I was shocked. I'm not going deeper into that topic. At that time there was found a security lack in the software which enabled 'normal' users to look into 'pro'devices as if they had the developing-software. Ño phasecancellation tests would have been necessary anymore. So there opened up two layers of discussion and everything became a bit complicated. I left that discussion and just took that learning effects with me, that there are topics where openess and the will for honesty just disappears...

Hi mccy, the MOVEQ+ looks really interesting. What are the "pre follower inserts" for?

BTW: addet the MOVEQ+ to my previous post for completeness.

This summed it up perfectly!

That's really interesting and somewhat matches my experience. I've started music production about 2.5 years ago, and I fell for a lot of marketing bullshit. I read a discussion about a plugin with a guy who kept repeating that the plugin was developed my former NASA engineers. As if this was some guarantee for better sound quality.

There so many people online who trash plugins from cheaper companies but I don't hear a difference between the cheap and expensive plugins. So 99% of my listeners won't probably either - if there even is a difference in the first place.

Unfortunately, it seems to be human nature to defend a poor investment instead of admitting to it and stop making the same mistake in the future.

+1 from as well. I would be interested too which plugins at all would have a chance to be/become a monopoly. As soon as there is something successful, the copycats do their work.

I made some plugins for inserting... The "movamily" so that the envelope following could be transformed to other curves or compressor/expander-like curves.

Before the followers filters make sense, but it alters the curve too, when you use a compressor or even a delay... or any other effect before a follower. That was a massive eslxperimental lab :-).

Scope is such a beautiful platform with all its modularity. You could just make your own inserts with sub-effects.

Moveq is a beast. In these young days I was obsessed with bringing every kind of movement to music. Every device had some moving parts ;-)

The only thing I wanted to change was that I used the stock eq modules which were great, but slower in movement. Some time later I built moving eqs in Synthmaker/Flowstone with eq- math from the cookbook where you can modulate the eqs very fast. I didn't finish that for scope just because my daughter was born and I hadn't the time on my desktop computer. (scope is a sytem on pci cards with sharc dsps.later ther was Xite, a box outside the computer which was too expensive for me then :-( )

I own the ProQ3 and the MCompleteBundle, almost all the time I end using MAutoDynamicEq, about the 10 or 20 bands... really? (Probably that file needs to be fixed with RX8) xD I don't use more than 5 bands and if I need to do that there is one EQ with more bands for that... MFreeformEqualizer or MFreeformAnalogEq.

Have you found any good in-depth tutorials for the FreeForm EQ? It looks interesting, pulling down the Analog version now

Reading the topic it was about "MAutoDynamicEq can definitely do anything and much more" and the cloning of features, which is then obviously not true. I btw experienced it completely different than you. Whenever I try to use any other EQ, I eventually end up inserting ProQ3 (with the exception of coloring eqs). And with the few Meldaplugins installed in general - open them, trying to use them but felt so out of context I switch them. That's life 8)
