And, no claiming someone is ignorant based on scientifically objective and verifiable facts is not the same as as saying a movie is boring. Objective (gentle clock divider on the difference between filters) vs subjective (you on liking a movie).

How can the movie be boring if it only is to one person. who is the person? is he an authority on films or is he talking shit. if i know this person well, i may be inspired or not to see this film based on my awareness of the personality of him alone. But none of that information is at hand in this case nor has your statement been supported with any resemblance of an argument. thus it must, in the name of logic be rendered false.gentleclockdivider wrote: Mon Jan 18, 2021 3:51 amDude seriously , the ignorance on showcase here is just astonishingKinh wrote: Mon Jan 18, 2021 1:43 amDifferent 'types', yes. But brands are virtually the same. LP can only cut off frequency, it doesn't really have a particular sound compared to other LP filters, at least noticeable enough. It's all clever marketing designed to wet your appetite. Most of the shit we buy we dont use. Why is that? Cause we've been conned.lnikj wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 3:03 pmTell that to somebody like Leonardo Laguna Ruiz (https://www.vult-dsp.com), who builds different filter types on breadboards and then circuit models them with top notch DSP.Kinh wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 2:48 pminteresting. but i dont think ya know wha ya talkin' boutgentleclockdivider wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 12:01 pm
Yeah sure , that's why so many developers try to ge the non linearities right and few succeed
The age of simple 90's bi-quad filters is long past us , but if you can't hear the difference that's good for you![]()
There are a dozen of them and the differences are substantial.
So when you see some brand saying this filter is classic and modeled on vintage circuitry and all that rubbish, remember it's just a filter and it's function is to cut frequency so the odds of it having a particular sound compared to others is virtually 0.
