Great update thanks - trying to get my head round the new filters but they sound greatab_sourd wrote: Thu Jan 21, 2021 1:17 pm What Halt option does? How it works?
Love new update, love new skin (also wish it would be a little bit darker).
I too like new skin and workflow but I agree with those above - new skin really needs less white and to be overall darker. Find it hard on eyes atm

I posted my results there. Setting Async to YES mostly fixes the problem. Other settings have less of an effect, the most discernible of which was setting Cache to NONE.Urs wrote: Thu Jan 21, 2021 4:07 pmYou'd be a perfect candidate to have a look at our other testing thread. I reckon the first option will completely change your experience:teilo wrote: Thu Jan 21, 2021 3:52 pm I am on macOS 11.2b2 on a maxed-out Macbook Pro 16".
The UI is extremely laggy when using the Izmo skin. All controls are jerky and slow to respond, almost to the point of being unusable.
Tested the AU, VST2, and VST3. UI scale is set at 100%. Tested in Bitwig and Hosting AU. Gamma at neutral. Anti aliasing both on and off with no difference in performance.
The Original skin is much better. Not quite as smooth as 2.0.1, though.

Seems like Dissonant and Reverb are different types of Comb filter. Similar to various comb filter modes in Zebra. And Sideband sounds like a frequency shifter but the Mix knob at 100% really gives you like 80-90%, so you always hear the result of dry and wet signals clashing together. I really like how the character of the filter changes depending on the Input levelcnt wrote: Thu Jan 21, 2021 1:15 pm Could someone explain what the other cool new filter types does? (Dissonant, Reverb, Sideband)

Yeah, the new filter types are great! Nothing like sending a short burst of noise into a keytracked/high resonance comb and getting those plucked strings sounds

I forgot to mention, the new filter types are also about Hive's determination not to make atonal sounds. I think this is one of the reasons people often request FM, which we're still reluctant to add. So here you go. These filters get atonal stuff easily, which is great for all sorts of percussion and effects. Plus, pseudo-realistic sounds in the sense of physical modelling.

Exactly what I was thinking. Only tied them briefly so far, but they are definitely a great addition to the wavetables
Great stuff!

Loving the new filters! A really amazing addition
The reverb filter with a bit of modulation sounds great!

Been playing around with it and so far I'm loving it.
I'm getting used to the new skin, I like how it's laid out but like a lot of others I find it just a tad too bright.
The new filters are a game changer! I can make some really nice rompler type patches very easily. It's amazing how much ground this synth can cover.
I feel like with this update Hive will become more of my go-to
Thanks u-he team and Plugmon!

Thanks for this example, I can't wait to try these filters myself (I was one of these people requesting FM for sfx and percussive sounds) but I'm a bit afraid of installing an early beta as I have a lot of Hive in my current projects.
The new skin looks very very nice from the screenshots, reminds me on Massive X quite a bit. But I also love the retro-futuristic feel of the original Hive 2 skin, I usually don't care all that much about visual aesthetics of plugins but U-He stuff does look just as great as it sounds.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Oh, thanks for the beta! It works like a charm so far here on Linux. Those new filters are wonderful and give some more of that Zebra feeling to Hive... (Also loving the Plugmon theme.)

Awesome update!
The new filters are very interesting since they respond very different to modulation. Sometimes just a tiny amount of modulation can create dramatic results.
Very cool

I think my number 1 feature request would be two more func gens since often I patch them together in complex ways...
To that note it would also be super cool if both(/all) func gens had move+still+fall+rise but maybe hide the not currently available ones in the mod matrix list rather than putting them on the UI
