or can the source material(audio/MIDI) be dropped directly into sampler instance in the case of Bitwig, never tried in AL ...legendCNCD wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 1:59 pm What I do is just record the data to new channel from the one I want... of course its a setup and not a rightclick-leftclickmenuitem easy, but not much more time taking except if the stuff I want to render to audio is long as this is realtime.
Then again another workaround is just to render the channel offline.
Not much updating from 10.30 to 11.x for me, maybe 12 then.

Not keen, I like my current Ableton workflow where I have a group at the top that contains all my frozen tracks and I collapse it out of the way until some time when I may need to unfreeze one of them.antic604 wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 1:55 pmThat's where smart use of comping lanes could come into play - just put the original down there.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 1:25 pmAs in a destructive bounce that replaces your audio with your audio post processing? No, just a process that renders the selected clip to a new audio channel and possibly mutes/freezes the original clip/channel, ideally with options available to set the behaviour in the Preferences. Right now, we either have to resample in realtime or freeze/drag or flatten, which is kind of tedious.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 1:25 pm As in a destructive bounce that replaces your audio with your audio post processing? For example it would be handy to be able to select an 8 bar section with a spot delay effect, render that section only to audio and then have the choice to either playback on a parallel audio channel or drag onto the original channel, to keep the arrangement neat and simplify the mixdown.
There are some cases where realtime resampling would still be useful for me, for example recording a loop with a glitch fx plugin running until I capture something cool that I like, but it's annoying that more straight forward tasks still have to be manually resampled like this.
Edit: there's already a Max4Live device that gets pretty close, so everything is already there in the code pretty much, Ableton just needs to tweak it a bit to make it a bit less clunky.
Always Read the Manual!

Oh, FFS are Ableton specifically waiting until the day Ive installed the newest beta before releasing the next one? That's three fecking times in a row.

Yeah, I guess so, I know it's a bit anal to keep everything so you can reconstruct it from parts, so I'm certainly not going to burn down the Reichstag over the feature being added if other people find it useful for their workflow.

No, it's not. Or we're both analWatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 3:42 pmYeah, I guess so, I know it's a bit anal to keep everything so you can reconstruct it from parts
Since Bitwig added "real" track & device disabling I basically have 2 top-level groups: (1) for live MIDI, effects, automation, etc.; and (2) for stems arrangement, mix & "mastering".
When I'm ready to committ, I just Alt+A on the (1) and it disappears from RAM, CPU and my view (there's an option to hide disabled tracks) to let me focus on big picture stuff, but always to quickly go back when I need within the same project.
I actually have to test how such a workflow would work in Live when my v11 drops.

Well, actually in Bitwig the rendered audio is placed on the original track, regardless whether it's MIDI or audio.PieBerger wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 3:02 pmNo, just a process that renders the selected clip to a new audio channel and possibly mutes/freezes the original clip/channel, ideally with options available to set the behaviour in the Preferences.
It's really confusing (viewtopic.php?t=506182)
But yeah - a single-click option to bounce a selected section (not whole track!) to a new audio would be awesome. Maybe in 11.x as it's really just a script doing some clicking behind the scenes

A simple drag a midi clip to an audio track to convert it to audio would be awesome, like in Studio One. With the options of including inserts or raw. While at it add a true disable tracks and plugins(CPU and Latency free) and hide them

This, Operator could be upgraded, it's really nice synth but it needs improvements in its operation.aMUSEd wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 10:58 am Bounce in place and an updated Operator with a big editor display like in Wavetable and more OPs and partials available would be fantastic
I've made a suggestion for some upgrades if someone cares to vote here is the number

musicradar did an article on live 11 new features yesterday so I’d guess they wouldn’t have done that unless they had got the nod that the release was imminent

voted. ableton has a strange erratic device maintenance... also with push 2... some devices... graphics... nice controls.. and other, you would expect the same, not..Lucastyle wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 5:35 pmThis, Operator could be upgraded, it's really nice synth but it needs improvements in its operation.aMUSEd wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 10:58 am Bounce in place and an updated Operator with a big editor display like in Wavetable and more OPs and partials available would be fantastic
