Is there a way to do sample and hold with the LFOs? (noise is too fast)

Hey there guys, I'm new to Melda plugins so forgive me if this question is silly.

When using the MVibrato plugin for example, I'd like to do a random S&H like LFO to modulate the pitch. Drawing my own waveform is not suitable as I want it to be random. Using the Noise shape is too fast, even at the lowest rate.

Is there a way to do a more traditional S&H (both with immediate movements and also smooth movements)?

Thanks
Fotis

When I want the LFOs from Melda to be more random yet smoother (basically) you could use the smooth knob. Maybe this helps? See this quick screencap I did:

If you own MVibratoMB (or it could be done inside MXXX) you could even use a mod to control the shape to make it more random, like so:

Hope I could help! Good luck. (=

How are you recording your screen?

Hehe, funny random question though. :D :tu:

I just love the free software ShareX for very quick and easy screenrecording or even simple screenshots. With this you can (at least for the image stuff) even add simple and quick anotations, arrows, texts, etc. into the screen from inside ShareX.

Another info: since KVR upload capabilities are very limited, I like to simply upload created GIFs (which you, btw, can creat with Ctrl+Shift+Print ... if this is the default shortcut; not sure if I changed it at some point) to imgur and just link them here. This way I can inbound them easily into a post.

Hope this helps anybody here.

More of those random tips haha!

Thank you so much for the replies. Using Smooth is great for a smooth S&H for sure, but it doesn't quite cover a more stepped S&H where sudden changes are made.

There are many cases where I'd want the more sudden changes, particularly when using Vibrato.

Use steps mode. Open the editor and set it to maximum number of steps then randomize values.

Just wondering... does Melda have any plugins like LFO Tool in their repertory?

I mean... basically like this plugin, just for MIDI. :)

Damn... looks like I'm out of luck. The plugin simply doesn't work in Studio One. viewtopic.php?t=547300

Not the fault of the plugin, it's rather the stupid way Studio One handles MIDI, which already drove me nuts at other occasions. "Look mum, no MIDI" my ass.
