I already replied to your post, but your demo of Vocalsynth was obviously really really sloppy... I already addressed other points but re CPU c_voltage is on point.
Are you sure you didn't simply mix up ovox/vocalsynth when writing your comment?

Well, to be honest, i already long time ago tried Waves Ovox demo, so, can be not remember how a much it for cpu, and Vocalsynth i have first version, but recently tried v2 as well (and AFAIR it was the same by consumption), so, Vocalsynth 1 in default preset eats 14%, and about 24% with all enabled modules (at a single core resp., Studio One here, PC i7-8700), frankly i doubt that Ovox eat more.
Ovox definitely uses way more cpu on my system. It’s the only waves plugin I’ve ever had cpu issues with. As far as vocal synth goes, I just already have all those bases covered. I bought it on sale anyway because I have a compulsive need to get stuff. I’ve found some fun uses for VS2 since I got it. Most of them aren’t vocal effects though.Ploki wrote: Sat Jan 09, 2021 9:18 amI already replied to your post, but your demo of Vocalsynth was obviously really really sloppy... Yes, trigger tracks can either make or break any decent vocoder. Preparing them so they are more consistent and even articulate can definitely yield better results.Ploki wrote: Tue Jan 05, 2021 7:12 pmtbh often issue with VocalSynth and pretty much most of synthetic vocal processors.. Try pre-prepping the vocals you feed it - roll off the highs, de-ess heavily, notch 2-6k heavily, hi-pass sharply at fundamental of the voice, then EQ the output as well (usually it's build up in the mids, and in the high-mids)h66 wrote: Tue Jan 05, 2021 6:50 pm OVOX "fans": is there a thread here about Ovox? My results with Ovox are ...not good. Dont fit in the mix, sounds "unnaturally", but not in a good way.
Same here. Got it in a bundle sometime ago but whenever I try to use it I decide not to.robearlyii wrote: Mon Jan 04, 2021 9:28 pm I, too, want to try OVOX. I have Vocalsynth 2 and I haven't been able to get very good results.
Vocalsynth does have pitching, but i have since sold it.simon.a.billington wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 11:25 am Not a vocoder as such, but has anyone checked out the new PitchBender by Waves??
I don’t think it’s designed to replace pitch tuning plugins, I think it’s approach is more for creating that simple and fast “autotune” effect for real time performance. An area not really covered by VocalSynth or Ovox. WavesTune RT, maybe, but this seems simpler and faster than that.
Anyone given it a go??
It's certainly the place I like to start with most plugins. Though there is some value to be had by checking out the presets as it may lead to other ideas.Dirtgrain wrote: Wed Aug 25, 2021 12:26 pm My advice for using Vocalsynth is to turn every module off and start from scratch.
