Yes, there are, AFAIK Meterplugs Perception was the first plug-in to implement such functionality. Melda Mcompare is another one, usually they cost much more money, an exception would be the Hornet one cited in this thread before. Anyway, I bought it after quickly demoing it.wangeroge wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 11:46 amAre there other bigger plugin companies offering the same functionality?LoveEnigma18 wrote: Fri Mar 12, 2021 5:30 am Is anyone using this plugin?

On sale for $12, which is probably a no-brainer, but I thought to get some opinions. Can't try it myself right now that's why.

Does someone know when the current Relab Sale is going to end and if there are other sellers carrying it?

I'm tempted by the LX480 and the VRS 24 but I don't have much time to demo them

I think but i'm not certain that you can't draw threshold curve in the "LE" version of MSD. It still might be worth to get the bundle tho cos the upgrade price to the full version will get reduced at some point.Nspace wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 4:02 amXComposer compared Gullfoss to Sonible Smart EQ2 and MSpectrlDynamics in the informative "Gullfoss Eq" thread the following quote is from:Spring Goose wrote: Sat Mar 13, 2021 8:37 amHow would I use MSpectralDynamicsLE as a like lite version of Gullfoss?zacha wrote: Sat Mar 13, 2021 12:24 am I have this bundle.
I think it’s most useful for all the little automation (in the non-DAW sense) options it adds: MAutodynamicEQ lets you set up very quick sidechained dynamic EQ, MSpectraldynamicLE can be like a lite version of Gullfoss or a light denoiser, depending how you use it, MAutogain if you don’t have time to level a long spoken track, MAutoalign if you don’t want to do that by hand, etc.
Knowing how MCompare works, it should work in Wavelab (MCompare routes itself between two instances of itself, so in theory the DAW it’s hosted on shouldn’t matter), but I haven’t had the chance to try it.
On the whole it seems to me like the bundle of Melda FX that’s a kind of combination of being cheap option, but also many unusual mixing FX that are more unique to MeldaOn a more precise answer about HOW to use it, it involves creating a preset (or copying/pasting one) as described at the "Here I go again: Melda vs. Sonible, Oeksund Soothe, Gullfoss?" thread:XComposer wrote: Mon Oct 08, 2018 5:26 pm I have Gullfoss and sonible Smart EQ 2 and I will buy also MSpectralDynamics for sure.
They are different and can work together and I like very much all the three of them. I will try to explain, as far as I understand how they work.
Gullfoss is absolutely dynamic: starting from a psychoacoustic model about which frequency tends to mask and which tends to be masked in various situations, it allows to recover the masked frequencies or to attenuate the masking frequencies (or both, if you want). Then, you have a Brightness control (to adapt to your expectations according to your favorite timbre, genre and style) and a Boost control (a sort of "loudness" control, to accomodate to your recording means or listening environment).
Smart EQ 2 is not dynamic at all. It is rather something like MAutodynamicEQ, in that it listens to your audio and equalizes it automatically to match some reference profiles, but the reference profiles are based (again) on a psychoacoustic analysis of each instrument (violin, clarinet, cello, etc…); also the "Standard" profile is not simply representing the frequency response of a pink noise, as far as I understand, but rather a sort of "psychoacoustically corrected" version of it. The difference with MAutodynamicEQ, as I said, is that Smart EQ 2 is not dynamic at all. I have also MAutodynamicEQ, actually, and I really love it.
MSpectralDynamics, well, is fully dynamic, and you can read on this forum (and on Melda's site) what sort of jewel it is… The best of all: it can flatten the spectrum, make transparent sidechain ducking, shape the white noise, dynamically "equalize", compress or expand with incredible precision, match or differentiate spectra and much more. The fact that I own Gullfoss and Smart EQ 2 is not preventing me at all from buying it soon, since it's different and extremely powerful.spektralisk wrote: Sun Dec 01, 2019 7:40 pmJust to be able to adjust its sensitivity or degress of compression per band. I was referring to Soothe with this which has this functionality. I just realised that you can do this in MSD itself by drawing threshold curve, then assigning modulation on threshold segments)

You cannot access the 'edit' window in the MSD LE - version, right. What should be possible though, is to save a preset in the full version & insert that into LE, if I am not mistaken.

TBH the 'edit' window is beyond my comprehension. I think i'd need more than the 14 day demo time to understand what i'm doing!El°HYM wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 3:41 pm You cannot access the 'edit' window in the MSD LE - version, right. @Spring Goose
It is indeed a pretty deep Plugin with a steep learning - curve & the LE already offers some stuff other Developers will sell you as mysterious AI - Features.
@asprog
Yepp, the good old Melda - referral code - Game gets old pretty quick in here.

Cheers pal. I'll just get this MEssentialsFXBundle @ £56. I'm finding mastering the most enjoyable part of the process and i've got about 400 "best" quality songs to practice with. Can't hurt to have more tools at this price!El°HYM wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 4:00 pm @Spring Goose

That was me just playing him a bit for posting his Referral and asking people to pm him after using it and nothing else. So I posted mine instead, same as you could have posted yours and all the rest of us Melda - Users can. No Biggie though, all Good!
If I remember right, on the last Sale the full MSD was also about that range you are paying for the Essentails Bundle now. Pretty decent price actually.

Hmm, I'm finding 40% off + 2 free plugins for $90 purchase (1 free for $50) tempting at Waves, but thankfully CLA Epic + Ovox is just under $90 on their site (terms indicate they don't count tax towards the $90). OTOH with a slight extra discount on each of them at Everyplugin.com CLA Epic + Ovox + Emo Filter = (58.45+71.94+26.97)*.6 = $94... tempted to do that and get MM Delay (another delay into reverb plugin, because I obviously will never have enough) and either HL Channel or OneKnob Filter (lowpass only). But I hate having to wait an indefinite amount of time to get the free plugins when buying from 3rd party sellers (and hope I don't miss the email before the deadline to choose the plugins)....
Taking a deep breath and letting go of the GAS for now... I think I mainly want to pick apart CLA and MM's use of delay-into-reverb, and I could probably satisfy my curiosity with the free trials, when I have time to study them closely and try to reproduce them with plugins I have.

I would try to go this route? Also keep in Mind that Waves did a 4 Plugs $50 - Sale end of last year, also via everyplugin.com, if I remember right. No need to rush it with Waves, imo!Ou_Tis wrote: Sun Mar 14, 2021 4:53 pm Taking a deep breath and letting go of the GAS for now... - did some serious looking at Melda plugins this weekend - I wasn’t aware just how ridiculously deep they are? Lol - anyway: went for the Creative fx bundle & am thinking about the Mixing Bundle, but Melda doesn’t discount for a licensee already owning overlapping plugs between Bundles (there are 6 shared between Creative and Mixing) - is this their normal policy?
- also noticed that vstbuzz at times has excellent pricing on Melda plugins and small “bundles” - maybe worth waiting for another sale?
So - anyway: if I go for the Mixing Bundle, between the MB, the CB, and the free bundle (which I licensed for their no brainer price) that’ll give me 99 of their plugins out of 114 in total; with some of their big guns missing (their turbo reverb for one)
- any advice on an optimal buying strategy for the rest would be helpful - even if it means waiting until bf

I would do a first big buy using one of the above mentioned referral - codes, because that one can only be used once, for the first purchase. Also add the 10 credits from subscribing to their newsletter. Then, like you said wait for the Sales via VSTBuzz & also Plugin Boutique, which both do those pretty regular, to grab the individual ones you want. And I think you are right the Upgrade - prices are only available for single plugins, not the bundles. Or more like Single to single & Bundle to bundle Upgrade, actually.
