I can confirm that. Latest versions of Cakewalk by Bandlab and K1v on Win7 (x64). Still, this is a fun plug-in, and I'm looking forward to the K4!

Nils! I basically came here to bemoan the absence of a Mac version only to find there is one, and oh my lord how much fun I am having! I bow my head in deepest respect of your work. This is truly a dream come true, as I've always had a weak spot in my heart for the Kawais. Especially the K4r which was the synthesizer I made my first own sounds on.

I hate to be _that_ guy but seeing that you are planning to make a K4 emulation. May I be so bold to ask you if you could consider making an emulation of the XD5 as well? As far as I understand, it's basically a K4r with different ROMs.

That might be achieved by simply ripping the waveforms from XD5 and adding them as an option to K4v? Same with faster envelopes, gate mode (which I assume means - oneshot mode, play the sample all the way through even if you release the key early)... all those could be a switchable option I suppose.

One small thing I noticed in the blog post, is this sentence supposed to say "bits" instead of "bytes"?

What do we see here? We see eight least significant bytes of a sample.

Hi Nils, I'm having issues in Ableton 11 - am using the AU plugin and running OS Catalina. The panning doesn't sound correct and when I play the 'ic-8 Arrangment' preset, it appears that two of the voices are missing (voices 3 and 4 are muted). The VST plugin doesn't show up either.

I opened up the AU plugin in Logic Pro and it seems to works fine. The guy in the Point Blank music tutorial also has a the same issue by the looks of it.

It may be due to Ableton's recent update from 10 to 11.

In the mean time there are a lot of Kawai Roms including K5...
It seems the contact has finally worked out...

Could you copy the error message? I didn't test on XP but I didn't implement anything Vista+ specific so it should work, in theory at least I'm going to try it in a virtual machine.

well, the error says it cant find dwmapi.dll am i missing some kind of runtime?
im using winxp sp3 x32.

dependency walker states the following required dll files are not present.

DWMAPI.DLL
D2D1.DLL
DWRITE.DLL

seems they are all related to graphical elements?
would you consider a gui-less build (even as a one off), permitting use on xp with an external midi editor? (simple fix?)

Just downloaded (v1.23) - so great to see this still being supported.! Thanks for all your work.

However, getting stuck/hanging notes on some patches after a few seconds playing:-

K1 ROM CARD A1-02 EB-8 Argent
K1 ROM CARD A1-03 EC-8 Dance Bass
K1 ROM CARD A1-03 ED-2 Sample Pad

Haven't been through them all, but anyone else seeing this..? Maybe just me..?

Am using only the VST3 edition, Win10 in Cubase Pro 11.0.30 (not tried StudioOne just yet)

(PS - still have my trusty old hardware K1 around; was my mainstay for midi input for many years

I encountered a few bugs and have to make a list, these are probably just typos in the code...
For example modulation vibrato is not active until its over 20.
There something with release, when its over 50 then its getting stuck.Also when you have it really long (release) then you wont be able to stop it playing until you switch to multi/single mode or reset the plugin.
Some other minor stuff is there , but the synth is quite amazing, i just wish it wasnt locked to number of slots on the list and you could have a lot more single sounds on the list that you could use for multis.
Its kinda like Roland D-50 but with more layers in multi mode.
Im loooking for something like this (4 slots for samples) but with ability to load own samples, not just whats built in, as some of its attacks are quite short.
IMO dev should separate the sourcecode and open it up for samples then charge $$$ for it.
