Metric AB is pretty good I wondered if I would use it but its come in handy. Good when you on the mastering stage trying to balance a mix.ferez21 wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 11:09 amI feel ya.chk071 wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 10:58 am Plugin Alliance have another ultra mega hardcore super sale with cream and sugar on top.
Can't choose what to pick, even for free with that $20 voucher. I feel obese...![]()
Its not fun to shop for utility plugins, but i think i gonna finally pull the trigger on the much needed Metric AB.

That was not the case for me. I have a funny feeling they will reset it based on historical evidence though.ferez21 wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:40 am I've used the MEGA-SALE-20OFF yesterday, tried it again today and it still works, that's neat![]()

I see Knifonium is in the sale too now at $49.99 i the PA sale, maybe not an impulse buy for me (still haven't *really* used/got to grips with my last couple of synth purchases, vacuum pro and bx_oberhausen).
How do people find bx_meter? Reapers metering is pretty basic but perfunctory, wondering if this is a decent step up?

Sorry, do you mean the sub-$20 effects or mo-verb etc specifically?Gribs wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 5:03 pmDo you actually use any of those? The Unfiltered Audio stuff is pretty interesting but I have only goofed around with the plugins.GaryG wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 12:57 pm I was looking at that and mo-verb (assuming they pull the voucher reset trick again). I've pretty much cleaned out the sub $20 selection over the last year or two
Though may just wait and see if Knifonium gets added.
I don’t do mastering. My ears are old and not so good. I like creative effects. I guess I don’t have a license for Fault yet so maybe I will get that. I am not sure it really does anything that my other plugins do, but what the heck it is free with the voucher.
The guitar pedals are all pretty nice, as a casual guitarist I can appreciate the differences. I have far from golden ears so tend to stick to stock eqs etc but I can appreciate the Lindell eq and comps, something different that just works on more 'sterile' sounds.
When I demo'ed the SPL plugs before I heard a definite difference, particularly with mo-verb, definitely raised the sustain of, say, a guitar part. Though realised last night I had the free Crack plugin which kind of does the same thing so I'm sticking with that, trying to avoid unnecessary clutter
I hear you on the creative effects comment though, if I didn't already have them I'd grab all the UA stuff, Sandman Pro and Fault are my favourites for sure.

Just rather get the free Youlean Loudness meter and save your money/vouchers for something else.GaryG wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 8:26 am How do people find bx_meter? Reapers metering is pretty basic but perfunctory, wondering if this is a decent step up?
Or HeDa Track Inspector for Reaper if you like that sort of thing.

Depends on what kind of metering you are after. Metric AB or Hawkeye are better options for more detailed metering.GaryG wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 8:26 am

It's based on the last 12 months. Every month, it gets recalculated. When you purchased that $10 plugin, it must have brought you above the $50 spend over the last 12 months to get a $25 voucher. Then in February, you back below the $50 mark.GaryG wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:23 amNo... Last thing I bought was bx_oherhausen for $10 back in December (first purchase for a while), got a voucher in January but nothing since. Guess they're regulated by the amount you spend dynamically, not just over a year.Spring Goose wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 1:54 pm I already got Knifonium for about $15, you must've missed it. Do you get the $25 vouchers?

They are very different. Thorn is a great, very special synth with a digital soul. Lion is more of a sound designer's playground and can -- due to its modularity -- give you extraordinary results.gerk wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 4:36 pm Both Thorn and LION are $20 after PA Sale and Coupon, any opinions on which one to get?
Personally, I prefer Thorn. I have the impression Lion is never updated, well, half-abandoned, and has some rough edges from the software engineering point of view.

There’s a fairly big Lion thread on hereralfrobert wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 4:42 pm I have the impression Lion is never updated, well, half-abandoned, and has some rough edges from the software engineering point of view.

They are indeed very different. Get the one you are slightly leaning more towards now and other one when the voucher is reset or next time it's on a weekly sale.gerk wrote: Thu Apr 01, 2021 4:36 pm Both Thorn and LION are $20 after PA Sale and Coupon, any opinions on which one to get?
Personally, I like LION more.
