Trying to create a skin, is there a less buggy/painful version of the GUI tool?

Hi,
I'm trying to create my own skin for SM One after finding out there is a GUI skinning tool, but it's a pain to use. My main issue is that there is like an invisible rectangle under the "Index" knob, that i can't really "catch" with my mouse, and if i only move the knob to another location without that rectangle, the knob will not function properly.

How do i move it?

Other than that, the editor is very laggy in general and is very very frustrating to use, i know it was meant for internal use by you guys, but i still wish there was a better version of it.
