Sure, next time you buy Live you must give it away.

Hello all,
Looking for some help / info.
I was watching the video from Simon Stokes (shown below) on comping in Live 11 and I cant seem to get it to work the way he is showing.
I can record the takes into separate lanes no problem but then he shows how he just highlights individual parts of each take and then it automatically ends up in the main take lane. The only way I can make that work is if I right click and select 'copy to main lane'
I notice that this was in the beta phase when the video was recorded so am I missing something or did the behavior change?
Interesting part of the video starts at: 1:50
Thanks, Glenn

Ah shoot! Thanks. Sometimes things are just so obvious you need somebody else to point it out!ozinga wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 7:37 pmBy pencil tool (B)canadian_moose wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:56 pm he shows how he just highlights individual parts of each take and then it automatically ends up in the main take lane.

I wouldn’t beat myself up. It’s only obvious once you know it.

Or press Enter after you made a selection. Useful for when you are not in Draw mode.ozinga wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 7:37 pmBy pencil tool (B)canadian_moose wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 5:56 pm he shows how he just highlights individual parts of each take and then it automatically ends up in the main take lane.

I downloaded and played with the Bitwig demo last night. I did own Bitwig at one point. For reference, I'm a Live user.
The featureset of Bitwig is impressive, and there's a lot that Live does not have, but I still like Live better. For one, the Live interface is exactly what I prefer - minimal, and no colors jumping out (unless that's desired through track colors). And the complexities that Bitwig adds, I don't personally need.
I had a similar experience with Phaseplant, Zebra, Bazille, and Massive X. All amazing synths, but ultimately the depth and complexities offered are beyond my needs. There's a happy balance for me in Live and synths like Vital, Hive, Dune 3.

Yup, Live is delivering. Quietly in the background MAX is also more powerful and capable of MPE and a few new tricks so everything that has come out with and since 11 seems next level...
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S49MK2, Studio One, BWS, Live 12. PUSH 3 SA, Osmose, Summit, Pro 3, Prophet8, Syntakt, Digitone, Drumlogue, OP1-F, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Nord Drum3P, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!
