No, because the software is authorized through it.

Yes.

Yes.
You can also download offline authorisations for them - but do still need ASC to activate them that way

The CPU meter on Pigments' GUI appears to be more closely related to the meter in FL Studio that shows percentage of audio buffer filled rather than CPU usage.

If I monitor both Pigments' and FL Studio's meters they are pretty close while the CPU meter in the Windows 10 Task Manager is lower.

But if the audio buffer is filling up then you're going to get under runs and audio degradation regardless of actual CPU headroom

Here's the meters shown while playing the Dark Strings of Heaven patch with three notes. This is on my internet computer which is an old i5 3470 running at 3.2GHz buffer at 512 samples (12ms):

Thanks for the reply... I was looking for timestretch with sample playback, not using the granular function... cause then it sounds granular

One more quick Pig 3.x demo based on using one preset from each pack in Spectrum pack and tweaking a bit. There is also a bit of Maschine in it for rhythm but the bass arp is from Onyx.

I don't know. I am not really hearing stuff in the presets that are impressing me that much.

Yeah, sorry, there's not really any smart/automatic time stretching for samples. The roll-your-own granular stretch does work pretty well though for some sources - especially plucky tonal sounds (using a triangular window skewed toward short attack) or pads (with a smoother window). It's not really suited for drum loops and the like. You can get a passable overlap-add time stretch using a trapeziod or Tukey window, but there will still be artifacts.

I'm not sure calling it Pig 3 is appropriate....or maybe it's perfectly appropriate. :P

Arturia should have just called it "the pig"... CPU hog .. :-)

Or Pigments 3  CPU!

Anyway, I have ordered a new cpu and a motherboard (Ryzen 5800x), but I will keep using the same other components. So, I'll report here next week if I could transfer my OEM Windows successfully
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

When I first tried P3, meter in Cubase shows lovely 50% usage with default preset (no playing anything) :D On 3900x (12 core) CPU.
So far it was the most "powerful" preset from the presets list.

Of course I could add it to a busy project that was alteady using 80% of performance meter and it didn't even affected it in any way. I could play complex pad presets and there was no single crack sound or anything. Ozone's Limiter IV seems to affect performance more than P3 in busy project.
So from my experience, in real use P3 is quite gentle for a decent CPU.

Everything done in 96kHz, 128ms buffer.
