I've been using Kaleidoscope with the architecture extension for a while now and during the last sale upgraded to the Perfect Storm 3.5. So I'm pretty much covered now. But love your stuff!! I'd be more than happy with a Kaleidoscope update, also adding Precedence support to B2 and Aether would be awesome. Or working on something new would be sweet, too. Just wanted to say I'm happy to hear that you're working on something and am looking forward to what you come up with, whatever it isAndrew Souter wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 5:47 pm Re Kaleidoscope timelines/updates etc. I hear you and I sympathize/empathize. So as of just now saving presets has also become impossible in Cubase 11, it worked perfectly fine for the last week after I noticed the bug in LogicX but now the error message also appeared in Cubase 11, out of the blue, nothing was updated or changed in any way. I'm lost...
Can we have a hotfix pretty please?

Total shot in the dark (especially as I am not experienced with managing a Catalina system), but here is a tool I have often used for solving general permissions-related errors when NORMAL permissions troubleshooting has failed:
https://lagentesoft.com/batchmod/
Again, I have no idea how it deals with Catalina-specific issues, but worth a shot maybe?

Still no solution? I wrote to support and see if I get an answer. In general the 2CAudio stuff feels a bit abandoned but I hope its just a sign they are doing amazing new things in the background and some day come with the things which let my head explode again.
I also hope of course they do still well in these times a lot people suffer more than ever.
2CAudio stuff still belongs to my favourite FX ever but slowly I see others might be overtake them in near future with more bug fixes, releases, new great things, proper road map.
Well, we will see. I wish the 2CAudio guys all the best of course and hope I am wrong (as usual).

Yes this is a longstanding issue and seems related to the new filesystem - 2 months on are we any closer to a fix for this and the saving issues at least, both of which seem to be particularly pressing for Mac users?Cinebient wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 6:05 pmIts also on Big Sur and my M1 machine has especially trouble with your GUI when using Logic in native version (where single plug-ins gets translated). Of course I know its not supported officially but maybe you have an idea.Andrew Souter wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 5:47 pmNope, not that I saw/see.Dirtgrain wrote: Tue Jan 12, 2021 1:59 pm I bought B2 several weeks ago, and their support was responsive. Sorry if I am slow to see the thread here, but we don't check forum threads everyday. We do of course check email support every day.
We have looked into it though, and indeed there seems to be issue with saving user presets in Catalina. We are exploring it. Believe it or not, it was not brought to our attention until very recently.
Aether and B2 both have "HD" versions of the GUI since 2012 or so. Just load one of the "HD" skins and reload the plug. Should work great on HIDPI screens. Future versions will use the many-size option scheme that is found in Precedence, Breeze 2, and Vector.Ploki wrote: Sun Jan 17, 2021 2:53 pm I really like 2C plugins, but lack of hidpi support on aether/b2
We are exploring it. Obviously it is something that must be done and it is something that will be done. No exact ETA just yet. We are heavily optimized for AVX etc on x86 so obtaining similar performance is likely not as simple as the marketing may make it seem. Nonetheless we realize it must be done.

Also there is still this mess in the preset browser now since years.

I am pretty sure I will buy this - it suits the way I think about sound and music. Is it worth buying the pack that includes the Galbanum Achitecture Volume 1 and Architecture Waveforms 2010? I tend to think I might as well just make all my own stuff, I have no idea what the Architecture Waveforms 2010 offers to Kaleidoscope but the images in Architecture Volume 1 might be useful.

So, finally I am scared all the 2CAudio stuff is abandoned. I still hope they do something huge in the background but so far it does not look good. Still waiting for major bug fixes, not even expect big updates anymore.
Maybe it is a curse but all my favourite tools (beside the things inside Logic) seems abandoned these days, lol.

B2 seems to be working fine in Big Sur. i haven't opened kaleidoscope in ages so can't say how that's working. seems a bit borked based on posts here.Cinebient wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 3:29 pm So, finally I am scared all the 2CAudio stuff is abandoned. hopefully they're working away on compatibility updates and apple silicon versions for apple users.
it's quiet around here but i'd be surprised if they just bailed on the whole company. their reverbs are quite popular and there's not much else like B2.
it's a competitive business though.

Yes, the 2CAudio stuff belongs still to my very favourites. B2 is really special and I also almost always use Precedence in combination with Breeze 2. I also own Aether but do not use it really often.dayjob wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 3:59 pmB2 seems to be working fine in Big Sur. i haven't opened kaleidoscope in ages so can't say how that's working. seems a bit borked based on posts here.Cinebient wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 3:29 pm So, finally I am scared all the 2CAudio stuff is abandoned. Kaleidoscope is one of the most unique and also most interesting FX for me but as with some of their other tools, there are bugs (which I would call even major for my use case) which seems to stay as they are since months or even over a year or more.
Apple silicon support indeed would be also something I would like as a happy Macbook M1 user but there are some bigger problems and so far there is no sign of solution in sight.
So far I do not use much third party FX or any third party tools and prefer to stay within Logic since it is safe to be developed and the tools getting better and better and third party tools are evolving not at all or to slow or stop even working as expected.
But as I said the 2CAudio stuff is still something special and they are one of very few third party developers I still like to support and like to use for extern FX to add something special.
I am also not very active in the last months in terms of creating music or doing sound design nor watching these forums a lot so I thought I might missed something but so far it is scary silent around these guys.
I just hope everything goes well for them and wish them all the best (and of course still hope for that mystical Kaleidoscope and B2 update one day).
Well, patience was never something I can deal with, so it might be just me.

Why the concern about 2C abandoning their products? Did I miss something?

I have seen absolutely nothing that suggests it's anything but the usual need to try and make drama out of pure unsubstantiated speculation.plexuss wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 5:59 pm Why the concern about 2C abandoning their proeucts? Did I miss something?

yeah. i think people were expecting updates and bug fixes on some things but it's been quiet. i'm not particularly concerned. they seem pretty diligent and methodical about development in general.plexuss wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 5:59 pm Why the concern about 2C abandoning their proeucts? hopefully they're doing well and will deliver relevant updates sooner or later. i think they mentioned a loose plan in this thread or another one a while ago. "we're working on things" was the general message.

radio silence about everything since forever.plexuss wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 5:59 pm Why the concern about 2C abandoning their products? Did I miss something?
i.e. on Mac sorting bugs on Aether and B2 were never fixed, dev "kind of" acknowledge that M1 needs to happen - someday.
I refrain from using them and kind of moved to Valhalla and rediscovered some love for Pro-R, despite loving 2C reverbs for many many years. I just don't like abandonware, better to just pull the bandaid off.
I'm trying to sell my Perfect storm, if it happens, fine, if it gets updated before i sell it, i probably won't sell it.
Aether really is a lovely, lovely room, and B2 is just mad.
i might reinstall these now that i'm talking about it

They work. They sound good. The company still exists. ... I dont get all the venom ...
If I were a dev I'd definitely not use these forums to communicate with customers! Maybe they had good intentions and then found trying to babysit everyone one here was just not possible. I'd 100% respect that.
