Noise Engineering, makers of some really cool eurorack modules, are coming out with some VST synths. they are in public beta now:
https://www.noiseengineering.us/blog/public-beta
You have to make an account to download them and I haven't personally tried them yet but they might be interesting to throw them into the OSC ring

I have them installed. I like them a lot, but i don't really know if they're suitable for OSC.Leonard Bowman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 11:05 pm Noise Engineering, makers of some really cool eurorack modules, are coming out with some VST synths. they are in public beta now:

I tried to try them, but can't even install them. The installer is supposed to open a login window in a browser, which then does not happen. Doesn't even open my standard browser, good old but IE11 instead. Maybe it's a win 7 thing, but I think Noise Engineering are being way too smart for their own good here. Let's forget about these for OSC.Leonard Bowman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 11:05 pm Noise Engineering, makers of some really cool eurorack modules, are coming out with some VST synths. they are in public beta now:

Managed to untie the knot in the installation process after all. Was not a Win 7 thing ; was a "having the right default browser in one's administrator account" thing. That's a first. Anyway, I think these are just fine for an OSC round. I can see why they are suggested as well as liked above. Wouldn't be an OSC deluxe, far from it, but definitely interesting.

As a regular contributor to the synth stock and periodic participant in OSC, please join me in congratulating Björn / Full Bucket for his KVRDC 2021 mega-win! I'm sure WhispAir will find its way into OSC sometime soon! Thank you for all you've contributed over the years; I can't think of a better winner! (well, aside from z.prime of course)

Thanks for figuring this out. Had the same browser problem, resolved with Firefox.ELEX wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 8:41 pmI tried to try them, but can't even install them. My first impression of the Noise Engineering plugins Virt Vireor and Sinc Vireor is that many of the presets simply don't work. And the sounds I do hear are thin and not all that intriguing. Haven't yet tried creating sounds, but I'm not finding a compelling need to try. Some work needed here. I'm using Logic 10.6.3 on Mac OS 11.5.1, on an Intel MacBook. I don't recommend these (yet) for an OSC.

Don't forget the 'filter mix' parameter ! Also, lots of presets use HP and BP filters on waves that are of the hollow sounding variety to begin with. And they are velocity sensitive to a fault. Must admit though, that I tend to enjoy the results of OSC rounds that start off with feeling like "Oh no ! Not this synth ! " These would definitely be in that category.tickytock wrote: ↑Wed Aug 11, 2021 8:03 pm My first impression of the Noise Engineering plugins Virt Vireor and Sinc Vireor is that many of the presets simply don't work.
