Actually quite liking it on both synth and electric bass here.

From the other thread: Yes, that's the set of cymbals that normally loads with the two kits that are included.

I feel like I know the answer to this but just fielding this one for those who dont know yet and those who may have heard updated news on it:

Steinberg currently doing the annual 40% off Cubase updates/upgrades and crossgrades, this is a good time to buy an update and HODL for a few versions to make it cheaper updating over time by skipping increments - but from memory it is cheaper to buy the incremental upgrade from say Cubase 11 to 11.5, rather than an update from 11.5 to 12 - is that still the way to go?

Ends August 1st so plenty of time to allocate money for it.

Edit: so my question is - since we are at version 11 now, should I wait for the next update sale window once Cubase is at 11.5? Will the price be much cheaper or is like $20 cheaper in which case I may as well bite now, what with inflation coming in... :clown:

I don't recall a discount greater than 50%. That's what it was 2 years ago when I last updated Cubase. Is the possibility of an additional 10% savings worth your wait?

Thats part of it, but I seem to remember that the incremental update costs less than a full version one - so the gap in price is both a percentage and literally a lower update price to begin with. Works out to be about $20-30 difference, but again, is that worth an intentional wait? Probably not for me these days, but interested in thoughts on this just to clarify.

I get the impression over the last couple of years that they've been weaning us off the 50% of sales for more current 40% off sales.
Something else I noticed from the email though...

I wonder if those days of holding on to our sale price upgrades for a future version is being curtailed as well. Or if this "timed" offer is just specifically about upgrading the upgrade.

Personally still sitting on an upgrade to feel any urgency about jumping on this one. But definitely keeping an eye on their trends.

Alright I've just done a comparison of my receipt last year having purchased the update that took me from Cubase 10 to Cubase 10.5:

This is an incremental upgrade price as 10.5 was the latest version to update to, I purchased it on 6th July 2020 so must have been on the annual 40% off sale. I didn't use the update at the time so I could wait until Cubase 11 released and then the upgrade gave me the free jump from 10 to 11 at the smaller update price.

The price for the 10 to 10.5 was $53 Australian Dollars.

The current price for upgrade to Cubase 11 showing as "from $89" and this price would be again Australian Dollars.

So thats a difference of $36 dollars, which is about 40% cheaper!

Conclusion then is to wait until July 2022 to buy the update as by end of year it should be Cubase 11.5 - assuming all things play as they have in the past.
