Hence we spent a week of manpower to ensure that it isn't a fault in our stuff. We hope the host in question will be fixed soon.
bothSo, you basically need to have all major hosts and operating systems, or resort to external testers.
Depends. I don't know about TAL, but a small company which gets by with an externally maintained plug-in framework (e.g. JUCE), a standard website technology (e.g. WordPress) and a manageable user base (thousands rather than hundreds of thousands) has a lot fewer things to do than we do, and may not really need to put that much effort into such an update.U-he is bigger, but I suppose for a one-man company like TAL keeping his 12 plugins updated must be quite a challenge...

The first one is logic, right? I remember this happening with rc1.Urs wrote: Tue Aug 10, 2021 8:43 pm
For example, it was sheer coincidence that we found out that closing and reopening a project in a certain host in a certain way could lead to corrupted audio. It was easily fixed, but it was a non-trivial find, and it took several days to really get to the bottom of it.
Likewise, a certain project in a certain host could "explode" with a plug-in of ours, but after days of testing we could make it explode without any of our plug-ins. This isn't our fault, clearly, but it's an example of an uncertainly that may take days or weeks to look into.
Second one i assume is also logic - because i could make it explode with any oversampled plugin

Thank you for the update
The new skin in Hive is great
I hope that Hive gets more complex oscillators with all the folding, sync, fm, pm ...etc Maybe in version 3.0
The new skin in Hive is great
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Personally, I hope they leave Hive pretty much as is and just implement the aforementioned features in Zebra3 instead. Hive is awesome because it's not bloated with every option under the sun, just enough features, implemented in such a way to cover a broad range of sounds without choice overwhelm and or crap workflow.EnGee wrote: Wed Aug 11, 2021 9:36 am The new skin in Hive is greatI hope that Hive gets more complex oscillators with all the folding, sync, fm, pm ...etc Maybe in version 3.0

When I will do the updates (Diva, Zebra, Hive ,I am very interested in doing so), how will this affect my NKS database ?
I have some bad experiences with some other companies updates (double entries, missing links). Unfortunately, I cannot do a complete Komplete / Maschine rescan because of out of memory issues.

Komplete will automatically rescan just the libraries that changed. If memory serves me right, you can also manually rescan just the libraries you wish to rescan, i.e. there's no need to do a complete rescan.FotoxBr wrote: Wed Aug 11, 2021 11:39 am When I will do the updates (Diva, Zebra, Hive ,I am very interested in doing so), how will this affect my NKS database ?

That said, we have not heard of any issues and as these updates went through a full screening process at NI, I don't expect any problems.

Maybe you are right! If the majority of people are happy with it, why change it! I might be in the minority that want Hive to compete with higher end wavetable synths like Serum and Phase Plant as adding several wave shaping to the oscillators would make it a great sounding all in one synth.PieBerger wrote: Wed Aug 11, 2021 10:38 amPersonally, I hope they leave Hive pretty much as is and just implement the aforementioned features in Zebra3 instead. We will get a competitive synth, but it will be Zebra shapedEnGee wrote: Wed Aug 11, 2021 1:30 pmMaybe you are right! If the majority of people are happy with it, why change it! I think we just made Hive exceptionally competitive in the departments where it excels most: CPU and sound quality.
We fixed a weird left over sound bug that caused a teensy bit of digital artifacts in the standard waveforms. We also found a funky formula to estimate interpolation noise for individual harmonics, and applied it in a way that allowed us to speed up wavetable playback dramatically. With a lot of sounds and wavetables the performance gains are, well - and for all we have benchmarked -, without competition.

I think u-he killed their CDN with this announcement...
d/l is really slow, if it starts at all.
I checked on my (external) server, same problems, slow or I get a 503. None of the downloads completes.
So, either a DOS by KVR users or Urs didn't pay the bills
