And Zebra is u-he's version of a powersynth... excluding samples of course.Shiek927 wrote: Fri Aug 13, 2021 8:37 pmThat's the thing though -- Hive was never intended to be an "all-in-one" powersynth.

Well, I'm not talking about myself exactly! I'm talking from the perspective of a young user that mostly want one power synth that can do most of the modern dance sounds.
Personally, I'm mostly old fashioned (so that I have more than one synth). Sometimes, I want to make a track with only one synth. In this case Hive is not my choice.
Phase Plant is amazing synth. I like it more than Serum and Vital because once you understand the fundamentals, it is super easy to do your sounds because you have Wavetable, FM and PM at the same time. You can also make your own 4 operator FM/PM synth easily! It is the most flexible synth I have seen till now and with amazing sound (Massive X has also a great flexibility and sound). With Hive it is easy to feel the limitations after time, but not all of the users feel the same of course and only at u-he they are able to know what the market demands from them and they can conclude if they keep Hive the same or make it more advanced.
I currently sold Sylenth1 and replace it with Predator 1/2. I'm very glad that I did. If Sylenth1 had fm/sync, I might not think of selling it, but as it is, it's limited for me. I might keep Hive though, because I like the workflow and for straightforward sounds, it is a great synth (although I'm using Predator 2 more now).

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I doubt very few users would disagree.
Perhaps when Hive was first introduced it was never meant as anything other than an alternative to Sylenth? which at that point hadn't been updated in years. Sylenth was a target for sure by other VST creators.
Imo Hive surpasses Sylenth in many ways but Sylenth still has a few things that just work better. Not many though.
Every hardwired Synth will suffer limitations.

Pretty much. They don't market it that way, and it's not really "trying" to be a power-synth, but it definitely fits the criteria and has just about everything besides a dedicated drum section and samples which Urs is very much against.

Are you referring to Computer Music Magazine? No, the software for each issue is available for download via filesilo.
A well-behaved signature.

What is the difference between the updated Beatzille and BazilleCM? Just wondering if there is more than just the label... Beatzille has the nicer name, as its a word game...
I also wonder if there is a list of U-He synths which do not support Voice per channel (simplified MPE)? (I think most do...)

BeatZille and BazilleCM are identical internally, but they do have separate VST IDs and stuff.
I'm not 100% certain, but I think everything except Zebras supports multichannel MIDI and is MPE compatible with the exception of treating Ch #1 as global control channel.

Thanks, so I would stick to just Beatzille and wait for Zebra 3…
Though supporting the global MPE channel does have benefits. Think sustain pedal…

We are going to do this, but it didn't make it into this release...Tj Shredder wrote: Sat Aug 14, 2021 12:24 pm Thanks, so I would stick to just Beatzille and wait for Zebra 3…

Does the rc1 versions if the magware expire Urs? I am not currently in a position to buy a cm or a beat mag when they are updated in the mags. I have all the full versions of your synths but the limited magware versions with the updated ui certainly does have its charm.. I do currently use Bandlab and I see that there were some related fixes regarding the synths and Bandlab CakewalkUrs wrote: Sat Aug 14, 2021 12:42 pmWe are going to do this, but it didn't make it into this release...Tj Shredder wrote: Sat Aug 14, 2021 12:24 pm Thanks, so I would stick to just Beatzille and wait for Zebra 3…

No worries, the old magware will continue to work.surreal wrote: Sat Aug 14, 2021 3:03 pmDoes the rc1 versions if the magware expire Urs?
