thanks for any insight..
I made a spreadsheet with all the things in the group buy, and what was in TS2 as well as some other packages. It'll help you figure out what's left that you could get.

nice job.

one thing: LA confidential, clavitube, alternate keys, spaceport 77 and the hitmakers (trap, edm etc) aren't in sampletank 4max. they arrived after it was released. though they did offer spaceport for free for a short while after, so a lot of people with st4 might have it.

I like Arturia's stuff ... but this is just my personal opinion. They might make a good addition to Omnisphere and u-he, as the focus is on vintage emulations. You might want to try Analog Lab Lite (available very cheap, or bundled with hardware) to see if you like the sounds.

Another alternative may be to look at the group buy going on right now at IK Multimedia. You can get into the world of Syntronik for very little money.
Should of mentioned I have Analog Lab V as well. Is Syntronik comparable?
Honestly, if you have the whole U-He lineup and Omnisphere AND all your other vsti not mentioned in your folder, you really dont need to spend more money on inspirational sounds, just save the money for beefy hardware investments down the line?
I think most of us have likely already saturated our use case plugins folders and yet our actual song list achievements is still pretty thin compared to what we imagined it would be by now. So unless you are just collecting stuff for fun better to really use what you already have rather than add more.

just so completely true - buying creates an illusion of belonging (to the music producers world). Marketing plays on that and, in the end, buying becomes a form of avoidance, avoiding making music by getting the emotional reward of feeling like one belongs

Argh! Thank you for the correction. I've fixed the spreadsheet.

I have no problems with SampleTank and Syntronik sounds as such, but I absolutely HATE their GUIs. Not that they are ugly, but usability point of view they are so inconvenient and unconventional in a bad way. The only thing good about the GUI is that it is scalable, but unfortunately it is of no use.

I think they should take some inspiration from their own "effects" plugins. Also may be get rid of Syntronik software and have SampleTank as their only (flagship) software, because it does load Syntronik libraries already (without the instrument GUI, but that's not a big deal and it might be even possible to show them in SampleTank in future).

And then the new Product Manager, which is nice, but needs some improvements, especially from setting folder locations in advance. Like in NI Native Access.

Finally, the ability to choose only what you want to install (mainly for effects stuff I think?), and to to clearly show directly from the plugin GUI about screen whether the plugin is activated or running in demo mode. No custom shop opening nonsense.

IMO, IK will be so much better if they do the above.

I also bought Syntronik last year or so + Deluxe. And I don't use it.
What I really don't like about it, that it has no DAW parameter mapping. You have to map everything through MIDI. That's really cumbersome! (At least in Ableton Live)

I agree somewhat but when I bought Trilian I have become so inspired I dropped three releases shortly after.

Oh yes. Add this to my points above!

It is worse in FL Studio. I don't have words for how bad the whole automation/mapping thing is.

You really have to bounce out stems to a backup drive. Your computer could crash, your plugins could stop working, your project file could become corrupted, etc. There's just too many things that can go wrong.

fairlyclose wrote: Fri Aug 20, 2021 5:32 am my earlier point, which I think cascades down through the other posters, is wanting devs to charge a fair price and more or less leave it at that albeit with the occasional sale. Pressure marketing, false impressions of scarcity, inflated pricing that suddenly crashes to an equally fake discounted price, then hiking to an equally arbitrary ridiculously stratospheric price and so on is unethical, simple as that. And well known to be unethical and manipulative and illegal in some markets. Should be in software as well - one of the few industries that still allows such predatory practices
u-he's system of offering public beta discounts and then almost never doing sales again works well. It actually confuses me when they do run sales because they're one of the few developers that have made it work. Also, it helps that they don't release a lot of new versions or rely on upgrades. That sales model wouldn't work as well for iZotope, for example.

They haven't announced any sale to us. The closer we get to November, the higher the likelihood that they're waiting until Black Friday to do a sale.

It’s only ever been third party plugins that have caused problems. Of the hundreds of Logic sessions I have, none have ever been corrupted.

Thanks Uncle E! I'll wait for now and hopefully it will be on sale around Black Friday.
