In pro q3 the eq match averages out but I would like something that zooms in on specific bands from the sidechain and automatically reduces on the affected track in real time so its not just the band gains that are automated but the frequency too. I realize it's highly unlikely such a technology exists but I thought id try anyway cause I live in the future.

If you toggle a dynamic band in Pro-Q into manual mode, then you have a small side-chain toggle available. This lets you force Pro-Q to actually react to the sidechain.

Trackspacer or Melda Dynamic eq with the harmonics enabled on the bands will get you some good frequency dependent ducking. There are many FFT tools that can do this as well but I find they are prone to artifacts.
Usually I use Trackspacer for a mild ducking of the track by the lead (instrument, vocal lead, drums if they are the main focus etc) I find that the mid side mode can do nice things on most materials without sounding too obvious.
I use MDynamiceq for more general purposes like bringing a big distorted 808 in over the rest of the drums without killing all the headroom. Or plopping a fat bass over the rest of the track without killing it.
These (Trackspacer and MDynamiceq) are the most surgical tools for this sort of thing by far and they impart little of their own "sound" to things.

C6 would have been one of my picks too, or F6 for a more "dynamic eq" style of approach. However, I do't think these do exactly what the OP is asking, however useful these options are.

I've never used Trackspacer, but to my knowledge I think it's one of the few tools out there that does this type of job.

Pitch tracking? It dont track frequency though. I'm lookin' for something that takes external alternating frequencies of one track, matches it with the effected track and ducks each alternating band accordingly. You dig?

Pretty sure if you set the pitch follower to listen to sideband, you can do just that. Though if you want a braindead easy way to do frequency-specific ducking on a mobile target yeah, Trackspacer or MSpectralDynamics. But neither of them are dynamic EQs.

I find Trackspacer and Smart Comp to be exceptionally good tools for transparent frequency based ducking, and work better than the sidechained dynamic EQ in Pro-Q3 for me. I just picked up the Melda Dynamic EQ from PB, so I’ll be evaluating that one too; the more I use Melda plug-ins the more I like them.
