metronome is doing an odd skip just at point where recording begins. using either 1 or 2 bar count in and recording external audio. does it for a few recordings when first begin on a project but settles down and behaves normally after that. any thoughts? using focusrite 2i2 at 512 latency that never usually misbehaves

I encounter this one yesterday, a few hiccups with the metronome, on 2 systems (Motu ULTRALITE and Behringer Xair). Will test it further today.

Some ideas about workflow and functions. Don't know if these can be done at this stage or in a future update, just sharing or discussion...
workflow: "paste selected to new scene" option, so user can pick cells (shift+select) from different scenes to build a new scene.
function: ability to define a number of loop in a cell or Scene, with options when end is reached. This could take place at bottom menu, just after the Sync Mode and Sequence tab. Or in the sequence/right clic>funtion submenu>loop X time, Next.
ex:"loop" 3 times and >goto next/previous scene/cell, or simply stop. if not selected, infinite loop.

back to actual beta:
Q (quantize) shortcut not working on a selected cell. You have to double-click to open edition and then it works.
Altough "auto loop new sequence" is set to on in Preferences, this doesn't yet work for a new empty cell sequence.
*Double clic to creat a new cell sequence, hit record, play notes, stop record. Sequence is recorded, but don't automatically start, and loop is not defined.
If cell is only selected, without creating a sequence, then record result in a new sequence, with loop markers set as expected.
In both cases, play won't start automatically after record.
In order to loop the cell just after record, I have to
1) create a new sequence
2) set loop markers
3)hit record
4) hit cell's "play button" during countdown.
About metronome hiccups: this happen when timeline playhead is not set at the beginning of a bar.

Thanks for all feedback
I've taken notes.
Working on M9.0.2 which will be an important update with improved Live Matrix functionality as well as some serious bug fixes. (especially wrt the new multi-core processing)
It may take a couple of days before M9.0.2 is ready, still some work on it.

Been trying out the m9 on Windows 10. I like the Live matrix scenes, its a good workflow improvement. I played around it a bit with both audio samples and midi and it feels pretty stable.
I did have a few random crashes (non-repeatable) at first, where mulab simply disappeared. But it seems to have settled down now.
There are a couple of issues to mention (non-matrix related):
1. In the composer modular area - the midi focus does not pass to the selected module, the selected track stays where it is. EDIT I have set 'Activate Module Editor Auto Midi Focuses Module' to 'on' in preferences. Now the focus will pass to first rack clicked in Composer Modular Area, but not the next clicked.
2. There is a problem with the preset '4-band eq' - significant volume is added for each of the 4 bands turned off (with all gains set to 0)

About the metronome going odd when recording starts off bar: I can't repeat that. I tested it by setting the play line a beat before a bar and start recording there, metronome count down played as expected. Also all fine when started recording a beat after a bar. Can you please give a step by step to repeat the issue. Thanks.

1) hit play to play the timeline.
2) stop
3) if Mulab is stopped at an exact beat, no problem. If if play head line is set to something like 2.3.5> it happens.
alternative way to 3): double click in the play line position, and set it somewhere between 2 beats by dragging the last number. something like 4.3.750.

Ah ok, in that off-beat case metronome gives no count down sound, but continues fine once count down has finished, right?

sometimes no sound, sometimes count in from the start point and then stumble upon a beat and reajusting itself...

possible solution: "rounding" the stop point to next or previous beat.

Will look into this, thx.2. There is a problem with the preset '4-band eq' - significant volume is added for each of the 4 bands turned off (with all gains set to 0)

could the 'auto collapse mixer channels' function not darken colour of mixer channels when it is ticked? i colour track/mixer channels with diff colours to see levels when mixer is collapsed, but at the moment it darkens on 'auto collapse' and i can't visually tell which mixer channel corresponds to track
