I'm very interested to hear more about what would you like to see improved, feel free to post it.
We worked on many small GUI / UX improvements in this update, but we are curious to hear if there are other stuff you would like to see improved, whether it is about the GUI, UX, engine, effects, etc..
Kind regards
Edouard
As long as you're asking, I think Pigments would be just about perfect if you could add release (note off) velocity as a mod source.

I just downloaded ASC (v 2.4.0.1764) and it requires Rosetta to install.
Yes and it's still native. See here
https://www.arturia.com/faq/utilization ... processors

Do you really want me to make a screenshot of the «about» asc on my mac that says «universal» or will you believe what's written on the official website?
The app is native but the installer isn't, otherwise it wouldn't ask me to install Rosetta. I might be able to manually extract the application from the installer and use it that way.
I assure you installing rosetta won't give you covid.

Not much it doesn’t do really, really well to be honest and the new cross modulation and distortion fx just add even more.

Pigments may be the best all round synth now for any money…
Due to my choice to not use Rosetta, I cannot install Pigments on my new M1-Pro Mac. The Arturia Software Center requires Rosetta to be installed even though Pigments itself is native.

I do look forward to trying 3.5 whenever the installer becomes native too. Looks like another excellent update!
I totally get not installing Rosetta plug ins, I do not get being unwilling to use Rosetta installers? There's literally no negative impact to a Rosetta installer, it's 100% a "principal" thing.
Hello !
Pigments is now natively supports M1 processors.
Kind regards
Edouard
However, the installer for ASC still requires Rosetta. Is it possible to install manually? Thanks for any info.

SamDi wrote: Wed Dec 15, 2021 9:31 am Yes, internal synth reverbs, I regard as typical showroom-feature beside maybe delay to make presets impressive, because in the mix I assume most want to take their own more sophisticated reverbs and delays.

Other way around with eq, modulation, distortion and dynamics. This I regard as an essential part of the signature sound.
I regard distortion as a showroom feature. I assume most would like to use their own, more advanced pre-amps, tape sims or waveshapers in the mix.

Anyway, they'll probably include some of the ones from the FX bundle eventually.
What's nice to have it inside to to be able to easily modulate it and have readymade presets that sounds PHAT :D
My answer would have been little different in expression, but similar in sense :D :D :D

And if we would talk about distortion per voice (what is rarely the case with synths but exists anyway), then you wouldn't even be able to do it outside, unless you have multichannels

scroll down, but still for activation you need ASC?

Here it is (in order of importance):
  1. Make all FX parameters able to get modulated (what did colleagues think about, when they just added the frequency of the EQ in this release(?))
  2. Ability to save and load sequencer presets
  3. Add phase offset control to analog and wavetable OSCs
  4. More FX slots
  5. Add wavetable bending/readout FX in the wavetable OSCs
  6. Internal filter distortion
  7. Extend multisample capabilities to a full-blown sampler
  8. Wavetable editor

Yeah... been there and downloaded ASC but the Installer requires Rosetta. I suppose I should send an email to Arturia to see if a manual install is possible.

i'm not sure, but afaik you don't necessarily need the software center
the installers, i.e.: pigment installer, can be downloaded and installed individually

What's your beef with Rosetta? Not trying to bait you for an argument. I'm genuinely interested.

yesterday night i've done *exactly* the same:

Ahh... thanks. I assumed the Software Center was needed. I'll try installing Pigments directly.

I have no beef with Rosetta. I've no opinion on it and barely gave it a thought other than to decide not to use it which I am sticking to for the moment. Especially since all the software and plugins I actually depend on are all native. My decision warrants no discussion whatsoever! hehehe
