I am sorry but I cannot support making your own developments. Besides that you can give the Generic Flexi a shot which should do the job for the "simple" device.

Ideally I would like to turn this button to off by default, which is not possible for some reason in Bitwig. I find it very distracting to hear single notes without the context of the whole clip while editing notes with a mouse.

A mappable button would be nice as well. This button is not mappable to keys/midi cc by default in Bitwig so I'm wondering is it accessible through the API?

Already answered on Youtube but for people reading here: no it is not possible.

Since I posted my previous message, I was able to isolate what is causing the bugs. Every time I have an audio track which is armed to record, it makes the push crashes and behave very weirdly (either completely stuck, either mapping the buttons to other functions). I need to remove the track and restart the push for it to work again. I don't know if it is only happening on my systems or if it is a known problem.

EDIT: Actually it is just that selecting an audio track makes the push really slow for a few seconds. I was still trying to modify things so it made it panic, but if I wait a bit it is working normally. Still annoying but I guess this is due to Bitwig and not to your driver (same as the engine crash when I restart the push). Thank you for the amazing work Moss, I am really enjoying using my Push with Bitwig.

I am not aware of such an issue. What is your OS? Are there any exceptions in the JavaScript console? What do you mean by "crash", does it get unresponsive?
Is there any specific plugin on the audio track?

Ok, thanks! I do not think that Flexi will cover what I want to do, which is use the LCD screen to give me feedback on navigation. I will try to figure it out. Cheers!

Unfortunatally I can't reproduce the issue but it happened several times, mostly after 30 mn of playing with APC40.
I use MAC OSX Monterey intell, Scarlett 4i2.
Note : I face no issue with native bitwig drivers.

Hi Moss, I'm having massive problems trying to get my Akai MidiMix to play nicely with the Flexi Generic. These are the steps I am doing:

1. Create new Generic Flexi controller.
2. Set MIDI in and out to MIDI MIx.

3. Select slot 1.
4. Tweak slider 1 on the device. NOTE: at this point the 3 boxes below the Set button do not change.
5. Click Set
6. Select Track 1: Set Volume. NOTE: at this point slider 1 does control track 1 volume.

7. Select slot 2.
8. Tweak slider 2 on the device. NOTE: still no change in the 3 boxes below the Set button. IS THIS THE PROBLEM?
9. Click Set.
10. Select Track 2: Set Volume. NOTE: At this point both slider 1 and slider 2 control track 2 volume.

11. And so on...

I've watched the video at extensively, but maybe missing something. All I know is that up till early October this all worked perfectly, and then something seems to have changed.

I'm at my wits' end trying to solve this. Any help would be be greatly appreciated

The boxes above (not below) are changing if you twiddle any knob or fader on your device. These values are then assigned to the fields below the SET button, when pressing it. If you do not see any change in the upper part when using your knobs/faders then there is something wrong with your input port.

"something wrong with your input port" - I don't know what this means exactly...

The MIDI Mix is only 4 months old, the computer is less than a month old. What part of my setup covers my "input port". Is this to do with my Scarlett 2i2 Interface? I've got a MIDI Monitor https://www.snoize.com/midimonitor/ so I can monitor anything you ask me to...

Did you do what the dialog suggests?

Yes. I checked in the folder `/Library/Audio/Midi Drivers` but it was completely empty. I restarted my machine but that did not improve things. I asked the author of the utility about this and he said...
"That can be normal. All it means is that you don’t have any 3rd-party (non-Apple) MIDI drivers installed. Many devices don’t need special drivers anymore, and the Akai MIDI Mix may be one of them (I haven’t checked)."

So, do you see MIDI commands received from the input in Generic Flexi?

Yes. Here are the data that are displayed by the MIDI Monitor when slider 1 is manipulated...

Exactly the same data are displayed when slider 2 to 8 are manipulated.

OK, great that's what I understood. I mean if you see the same data when you move the faders in Generic Flexi?
