I would like to see an independent poll conducted worldwide.

I see many choices there I wouldn't personally subscribe. Opinions, opinionsxbitz wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 4:44 pm ^^^ sry, so again and again https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/20 ... -commended this the latest ( with the magical or mystical Kali Audio IN‑5 monitor )
Yes, you're right. but I would assume Logic Pro retains the vast majority of users in macOS. It's just an assumption, though
I simply think most people here write / produce music rather than mix / master it and that is where ProTools shines. For anything else I heard it's a headache.SparkySpark wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 6:11 pmInteresting thread. Of course, one needs to take them with a grain of salt, but at least, it's telling what the KVR community is NOT interested in... namely Pro Tools. De facto for many, still entirely disregarded here. Goes to show we (as opposed to some other forums) are more about synths etc than recording bands, I guess.
Exactly my hunch.antic604 wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 6:16 pmI simply think most people here write / produce music rather than mix / master it and that is where ProTools shines. The bigger problem is that people ho have never used PT like to make wild speculative claims about what it can and can’t do. I made a ton of trance and chillout tracks in PT and it was fine. It supports soft synths, has a piano roll and MIDI editing tools, and has plenty of automation features. You don’t need a whole lot more than that, other than skills and musical creativity.antic604 wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 6:16 pm I simply think most people here write / produce music rather than mix / master it and that is where ProTools shines. Yes, like S1, Waveform/Tracktion and even the free (!) Cakewalk. Especially S1, given their rep on this forum.
Indeed, S1 is way lower than I thought it would be too.SparkySpark wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 6:29 pmYes, like S1, Waveform/Tracktion and even the free (!) Cakewalk. Especially S1, given their rep on this forum.
Logic is an amazing DAW! The development team has done a great job the past few years... I picked Bitwig in the poll... but Logic is a close second just cause it is so powerful and capable and the development is fast, fresh and forward thinking...fmr wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 4:26 pm Just 16 votes for Logic Pro. It seems macOS is losing ground each year.
