I never realized that they split the SRX banks into separate plugins like that. What a stingy thing to do.

At least with the KORG plugins you get ALL banks for the given synth included.

My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

It's been like that since around 2018. At least they're just around $69 a piece.

I have a System1M without any plug outs and my only option seems to be the “Cloud” if I want an SH-1 or others.
Almost seems worth it, but not getting a warm and fuzzy feeling from this forum in regards to said Cloud.
I do enjoy my MC 707 and am old enough to remember the 70’s and 80’
so I do have a Roland/Boss history, I traded an 808 for Drumulator once…
Feeling sentimental in regards to their 50th Year too!

I'd never really looked into it, tbh.

Or $19.99 a piece (Zen Versions of the SRX), If you have a lifetime key for Zenology Pro or $3 a Month if you are Subscribed to The Core Subscription (Zenology + the Zen versions of the SRX Banks).

Me too re the sentimental thing. I have my Roland SH2 I bought in 1980 and a SH101 I was given in the late 80s. I have a few other Roland bits and pieces plus Boss stuff but they were purchases made in the last decade or so.

You can use the on month trial to try the 4 plugouts that can be loaded, the plugouts don't disappear from your system 1 after your cloud subscription is over, so that single plugout can live in your system 1 forever.

I just started getting used to the System-8 plugin. I like the different options for the oscillators and filter types. The manual isn't very detailed though.

One thing I noticed is that sometimes when I switch it from Poly to Mono in the Key Assign area, it keeps playing in poly mode. I reported it to their support.

Didn’t realize they were so cheap… a contender for that best cheap rompler question that comes up periodically. (Especially since it’s really closer to an xv5080!) weird that the jv1080 plug is more ($129?) even though the SRX versions actually have more….

I'm a bit nervous about buying into the cloud although I do this with Adobe and it works fine... with the odd glitch.
The Roland software synths are darn good though, but I don't think I would use it enough to warrant the price in the end.
So I ended up just buying separate licences for the SH2 and System-100 - that will do me for now!

Anyone know if the Jupiter 8 plugout, when running on the System 8, has the "randomize" feature on the arp?

I was thinking more "Rio", but "Hungry Like the Wolf" is obviously just as awesome. :tu: But that's always a happy accident, since neither originally used a Jupiter 8 (Nick used his Jupiter 4).

This is what Brian had said about that import request. I haven't heard any other news about it:
Brian.McClelland wrote: Fri Jan 14, 2022 10:03 pm Yes, the SYSEX question. There have been a number of requests for the implementation of SYSEX integration with the JD-800. At this time, I do not have SYSEX integration on the roadmap to my knowledge. The reason that I was given for this is because the JD-800 VST does not exactly match the parameters of the original unit, so any data from an original unit could not be accurately interpreted by the VST the way something with 1:1 parameters could. The D-50 VST was unique in its 1:1 parameter, and did allow for the integration of SYSEX data, but not every modern version of these classic instruments can. I will add your request to our weekly list, as we are tracking demand for these features for future versions. Thanks!
