Anyway. I like your idea. I'm going with what I decided for now but that could change.

:)

I'm curious to know why you chose Program Files>Common Files> over Program Files>Steinberg>VSTPlugins

Mine are all on my V drive in V:\VST

Those are for the Steinberg ones. when VST3 came out they made it so it would be one location because everyone was having different install locations which was annoying, which is in the common files.. so I essentially mirrored that change in protocol when installing my VST2 plugs, as the methodology of having everything in one place instead of scatter fk'd all over your computer in different places made sense.

Mind you, some installers suck and will install in the Steinberg or not give you a choice.. if they can be moved without problem I move them, but some of them seem to not like it.
Thanks. I'll keep a note.

That's the last thing you should do. Many plugins keep track of what's where (samples, wavetables, presets, etc.) and also uninstallers would completely loose [the] plot if you moved [files] from where they were put originally.

Same, I've started working again in Live with this update. It's just feeling more like a cohesive system. One of the things that kept me away from Live was it's high CPU use, but the M1 here relives that, so all of a sudden it's flying. Granted my other computer is a ten year old Xeon chip.

It is inexplicable to me, how version 11.1 could be released without the ability to scan subfolders and use aliases. :x

Organization of sounds, samples and plugins is the key to try all available options quickly to find the best one.
Without my categories, I wouldn't even know which of my compressors do not model analog harmonics, offer dual mono operation, or which ones are upward compressors.

I've been using the collections colors to organize my plugins, but there are only seven colors to use, and it's not nearly enough for how I would like to organize things. It is damn disappointing that Ableton hasn't come up with some better way to organize plugins (note: I know the collections system was not intended for this purpose).
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

It's the main reason I've sold my license. I have a lot of plugins and not being able to proper organize them just drove me mad...

Subfolders are still working. Shortcuts to folders aren't.

Yesterday I also switched from Live 10 to Live 11. A whole year after I bought my 11 license.... :)

Hey folks, according to the manual for Live it is possible to "Go to Next Field (Bar.beat.16th)" via the keys '.-,'
It doesn't work on my side or I do not understand the function right. I thought I could jump from one (e.g.) macro parameter to the next but when I hit "." or similar it's taken as value. Is it just me? I refer to "36.3 Adjusting Values" in the manual
It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?
