Yeah. I spent a lot on gear last year because I saw price rises coming soon as we (UK) left the EU ... Blue Sky seems to cost as much second-hand now as it was brand new a couple of years back.

That was my fear… well more like, the missus would kill me how much I like it.
I just committed the rookie mistake of watching that video. :dog: Must resist,… :scared:

 Yeah, I’m staying far, far away!

I do want to sell off some things I’m not using, but I don’t know which direction I’m headed with gear yet. I’ve been eyeing Oto Bim but I better look at this before buying too

^^ I remember when you got that, and yeah I am not watching the video.

I watched the video. It looks amazing but I honestly cannot understand how anyone could justify the expense when you could have this for $39 -

After all, they are both just software effects but you fins any YT videos where the presenter spends a minute or two telling you how to minimise (not eliminate) noise.

The cost was definitely an issue for me, was the same with the Soma Cosmos. I am not that into
delays in the end I guess. I did buy the timeline at over half the cost probably, that did have some
advantages for me over software, mostly it's suitability for use with my guitar, pedals and HW synths.

zerocrossing wrote: Tue Sep 21, 2021 5:11 am I’m not sure why, but every time I buy hardware effects, I don’t use them. Well, except for my AxeFX 3 and UAD Apollo. I bought a Poly Digit, and its brilliant, but I can’t for the life of me get myself to use it.
When I was mostly working in the box, it was way easier to bring hardware instruments into the fold than effects. Now, it's easier to use outboard effects because I'm not using my DAW for that kind of thing as much. Using hardware effects with a DAW requires more work, more I/O, you're potentially adding noise each round trip and it's certainly not as immediate as using a plug-in, so it's pretty easy to understand where you are coming from. :-)

I've been using Overbridge and eMote a lot more lately in an attempt to bring some of what I liked about working with DAWs, into my hardware work flow. I forgot how nice it is to be able to save a devices settings with a project, without having make patch lists or take pictures of knob positions, lol.
Yeah, a bit after I wrote that, I sold the Poly Digit and had nothing for a while, but I did get a Chase Bliss MOOD. I really like that one a lot.

I think my issue was that I was trying to get something that really covered a lot of ground… that I had covered. The MOOD works because it doesn’t cover a lot of ground, but it does go to a very interesting place. I think this will be my focus from here on out. I’ll probably add a Hologram Microcosm and a Soma Labs Cosmos at some point to create a crazy looper based system for guitar stuff.
