I'll be adding those new audio FX into the feedback of the delay's and reverb...

Well, someone wake Antic at least. Maybe he's in the Polish Army Reserve and got called up to the front :)

I think this is a smart update. It may have slipped in the Bitwish polls y'all use but in this older poll it was number 2:

Maybe they 'buried the lead', that is, put the most important feature low on the announcement page because they wanted to emphasize the audio side of things and not have the subscribers who are more interested in Audio rather than MIDI think that they're being overlooked. Not my idea, some one of you clever guys had mentioned the importance of this emphasis first.

The Note Grid is harder to sell the benefit of, I guess. The audio FX will likely be more immediately useful to me day-to-day, I suspect it's the same for most people who haven't been waiting for the Note Grid already. Personally I'm not sure what exactly I'd use it for (and the announcement doesn't do a great job at sparking my interest). I haven't even managed to fully explore all the new note effects from 4.1 yet! So there aren't really any gaps in that department for me that needed filling. I haven't watched the videos yet, though, maybe they're better at showing the Note Grid's potential.

Good catch. And I like your sig.

That's too bad, this Antic guy has been a good thing for this forum, on the whole. Perhaps this has more to do with intolerance by Mods than anything else.

After a first quick test, I don't think the example presets for the Midi Grid do the new possibilities justice.
None of them inspired me at all, but I find it easy to work with and it should be fun to roll our own :-)

Note Grid looks great!

Cool that one can have multiple Note Outs... CC In and Out

There is also Note Thru and Control Thru toggle on/off so one can filter incoming midi

Seems like a decent update, if slightly underwhelming for me personally. I appreciate core audio effects like chorus getting modernized, and there were a couple small quality of life improvements I spotted in the release notes. Note Grid opens up a bunch of possibilities, and feels like it had to come sooner than later, so that’s pretty cool.

I actually like the retake on classic FXs, because for me stock FXs sounded a bit worse compared to other DAWs. And now we have Note Grid one of biggest features people wished for.

It seems that v4 is sort of MIDI themed, so next must be the actual place where "notes" are placed?
I hope so because I can live without any note devices :hihi:

Yup... there is now a key command for adding a cue marker!
The user names of modulators now shows in the modulator GUI
Pan and zoom via trackpad now work simultaneously instead of one or the other
Option to always send midi clock even when transport is stopped

Did they add MIDI comping yet? If not this update is not for me and will hold out on renewing my subscription plan until it's a thing. 🥱

cmon we instantly able to separate chord notes by channel numbers (Note Grid is poly one able to process chords)
Image
and able to chop them to smaller parts (FL channel rack, Nora) perfect for drum/bass/arp patterns (even shuffle is working nicely just put the image to full screen)

Not sure if I'll ever use it, or what for, but I know many people wanted "Note Grid", so congrats!
