I looked at Sononym a while back but its $99. Not sure how many know about the free Loopmasters sample search tool. It runs as a vst and does all the tag searching but also converts samples to the daw pitch and tempo.

Sononym seems to be on offer for 50% off at least twice a year. Not sure what the Loopmasters tool is, you mean Loopcloud?

I'm referring to Loopcloud, although I'm not sure if the initial version they released is even available anymore. Its really a gem . Just looked and it appears that everything is attached to a subscription plan.

Afaik you can only add to the sample library while you have an active subscription, though you can still use it for finding samples you indexed afterwards.

So. It looks like they're cross-selling Cosmos with their Cre8 Creative sampler. For $9.99, I think they've gotten me to do the deal.

Ive had the original free Loopcloud since it was released. You dont need an active subscription to add to the library of your own samples. I do it all the time. Its advantages seem to be that it scans a whole drive at once, you can drag and drop a sample to your daw in a new tempo and pitch and scearch results are sync'd in playback to your daw. Just trying Cosmos ,I will say the scanning is way faster. I havent tried much else since I have to go folder to folder scanning my sample library will take time.

Also I saw posted elsewhere that the original free Loopcloud is still available

I think you need an active subscription if you want add a new folder or samples that are in a different location than your scanned folders. New samples can only be added by copying them to an existing folder. So you can't expand your folder structure and organize your files the way you want.

I tried the new Cosmos yesterday, all scans are as slow as on Loopcloud, and I couldn't get it to display subfolders in a folder, it only shows samples in bulk. (They even ask for money for the Waves sampler, the loopcloud has two in one app). This Waves thing doesn't seem like a gamechanger.

I haven't seen anyone offering that, but all the resellers I've seen are only offering maybe 5% additional discount anyway. If you want three (or all six!) of the X-series plugins, the buy-two-get-one-free offer is definitely the best deal. You could get all six for $135. Note that SSL's shopping cart does the offer "wrong" - if you put all 6 in your cart at once it shows up at $145, but if you buy them in two separate orders (X-EQ2, X-Echo, and X-Comp first, then the other three in a second purchase) you'll pay $10 less overall. I hate it when retailers try to cheap out like that.

Damn, that's really sad news. I opened their website recently and it said "under maintenance and we will be back soon", had no idea they are shutting down.

Perhaps they sold their domain to someone else and it will be a totally new thing once it is up?

Anyway, I always had great experience buying from Time+Space.
