Are you suggesting that when starting the live matrix and the current live scene is empty that an exception should be made and that the time line should be started? Could feel like inconsitency i'm afraid.
The uncommon thing is to see the Transport Panel counting while the Cursor is nowhere to be seen. I guess after the first time of seeing this behavior, then it's no longer an issue.

Also, in the previous beta .29 and .30 I could stop the Transport with the 2 options:
Rewind to Start (Spacebar) or Stop/Start at the Cursor current location (Play Button).

In the latest .31 it's no longer possible (that I'm aware of) to Stop at Cursor position and ReStart from there. That is an essential behavior especially if it used (as it was in previous versions) as dynamic Marker like in Live's.

I'm aware of Locators but that's has different purpose.

liquidsound wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 8:19 pm Also, if this makes sense, when Matrix and Timeline are playing together, using the Spacebar to stop, it will rewind both to the Start position. That's great.

But, if the Play button is used to Stop, it will rewind the Matrix Clip but not the Timeline Clip. That can be inconvenient because, beside Editing at Cursor position in the Matrix Clip, If I restart playing, it will not be in Sync with the composition that was playing before stopping.
So in M9.0.31, clicking the play button was improved to be more alike pressing the spacebar.

Isn't that a contradiction with your earlier post?
Sorry if i'm missing something.

Note that if you want a pure play-stop without rewind then map spacebar to "Play/Stop". Then also Alt+Play will do a pure stop without rewind.

No, it's regarded as final.
Ok, I personally think it is a step down from the M8 one. It seems sort of rushed and 'B-movie' standard. Sorry, just my opinion

M9 is now looking really good and has great workflow and ease of use. new show/hide matrix shortcut is great! can't be far off official release?

Not only M9 is looking good, the forum is too! So much activity recently, great to see that. Let's hype up new Mulab version! :band:

Indeed.

Great song by the way.
Guitar not loud enough though.

Sorry Joe, I was able to assign what I need rather than out-of-the-box behavior.
I'm still in Ableton mindset (Shortcuts: Take it or leave! :hihi: )

M9 got me back in a meaningful way and I see the incredible depth you added to the program.
I'll dig more into the depths before I ask for :help:

One more thing I can't resolve though: (Again from my workflow in Ableton "Option/Alt - Spacebar")
Click to "relocate" the Cursor anywhere on the Timeline.
Play...
Rewind/Start again, and again and again from the Cursor original "relocation" (Transport doesn't stop) .

So, Mulab Plugin isn't available so far.
Note that I use Mux Modular w/o any issue with Bidule.
What happens if you remove both the MUX and MUX (Synth) vst files?
I mean: Is Bidule having an issue because MuLab 9 uses the same IDs as MUX 8?
Makes no difference, still, Bidule won't instantiate/show Mulab Plugin.
I checked MuLab Plugin 9.0.31 inside Bidule for Mac and all works as expected here.
Unless also MUX 8 Plugin is installed, in that case Bidule indeed starts complaining about "Duplicate IDs".
MUX 8 Plugin and MuLab 9 Plugin indeed use the same IDs as it is about the same product, it's only about a version difference. Bidule should not only look at the VST's ID (AEffect.uniqueID) but should also take the version into acount (getVendorVersion) otherwise it would mean that Bidule does not support using different versions of the same plugin, which would be a serious issue with Bidule, imho. Supporting different versions of the same VST plugin is an essential general feature for DAW project compatibility. (not MuLab specific)

What about a shortcut to "Goto Last User Position"?

That sounds correct, as long as the transport keeps going so that with one keystroke you go over and over the same clip area which helps to analyze specific audio or midi passages without interrupting the creative flow. :)

FWIW, I'd expect a shortcut like this to also start playback if it's not already running. I.e. "Play from last user position".

Right now I managed to achieve that with some shortcuts combinations.

I go back to the "Last Position" and "Start Playing"... (Two separated User actions)
or just
"Stop" (Position X) and "Play Again" (from Position X)...

What I'm missing is what Jo suggested "Goto Last User Position" [GLUP] (One User Action).
AND
Play from there immediately without any other user intervention and repeat as needed using the [GLUP] shortcut.

Is that what you mean as well?
