I think the two transfers I requested this year were done on Thursdays. Perhaps they have a fixed transfer day. Not sure though.

A long time ago I asked this, but didn't get a response. Wondering if anyone can confrim?

Question: Do M4L devices still have that extra latency? I haven't used Live since V8 or so and max devices had extra latency that couldn't ben compensated properly.

M4L devices used to add latency depending on the audio buffer. What's the deal these days?

How long does it usually take for an Ableton license transfer to go through? Or for the recipient to receive even the slightest bit of communication (e.g., that it’s being processed or whatever) .. ?

I sold my license and it took around 8 days. So long for my buyer that they logged a claim with Ebay and demanded a refund. She says she has send the license back to me but then went completely shitty because I didn't thank her for returning the license despite it was her claim and issue all along notwithstanding that I had sent her every scrap of evidence. Now I have been waiting since 8th March when she says she has returned it back. Anyway fingers crosses - lesson learned and once I have it back I am not selling it again!

in my experience it depends on the device. regardless, there's delay compensation. but yeah.. some devices like a few of the ircam audio fx add a lot of latency but it's calculated and doesn't cause a problem when playing back etc. of course if you're trying to do stuff live or record through them it might be more of an issue.. but some devices do not appear to add any latency. really depends on the device and what it's doing. ymmv of course

interesting question, i use a lot of M4L devices, but i don't experience problems with them, that does not mean that the extra latency is compensated, only that in my way of working, it does not show...

PDC is still not fully 'working' in ableton, but in my user case, i don't notice it, or it isn't problematic.

this is more an under the hood thing, i think. i can check, somethings. i do, but forget..

i can only say, for now; M4L integration as improved a lot, a lot.

but, for example Modulat supplies devices, to compensate for delay problems.. so it seems still a problem..

Thanks for the replies. I remember when I used live the issue was that not only was the audio buffer added to max devices as latency, but it didn't compensate Max devices. Which I thought was pretty insane.

One issue I had with many M4L devices is the horrible frame rate. Not the Ableton official devices but third party ones like K-Devices.

That's in Live 10 though. I never upgraded to 11.
