btw: i received an official Tracktion marketplace order confirmation for the demo in my email. so all is well, i'm pretty sure.

edit2: got it registered for a free 90 day trial. just click on Learn More, then find the free trial
download link, it will ask you to login to your account. done.

After login to your Tracktion account you can download every Tracktion/Waveform version since version 4, you just have to edit the archive download link the way that JamminFool has mentioned.

For example version 4:

version 7:
https://marketplace.tracktion.com/downl ... rchive?v=7

and since today also version 12:
https://marketplace.tracktion.com/downl ... chive?v=12

etc.

This is also possible if you login with an account that has Waveform Free/Demo version only, there is no "official" link at the Tracktion website yet.

This is no fake or anything else, just use your mind and change the link according to the pattern.

OK, I've just installed it! Apart from the very good things like the redesigned browser, the new plug-ins list in the mixer, the upgraded plug-ins, the theme controls...there is one thing that caught my attention which was the new design of the properties panel. I'm not sure I liked it, and it feels like we have a minor learning curve here. The new properties panel looks more like a list of text commands rather than the individual-separated task buttons as in Waveform 11. The sense of separation between the different commands has gone visually, so I have to read through the lines to reach the task I'm looking for. It's not convenient.

Just my first impression. Time and experience will show more.

I have great respect for the effort of developers, although I wish the properties panels remained the same.

You wouldn't need to reinstall. You'd just install the newer version and it would install over your most recent version 12.

Jabe, no I know that--I just wouldn't want to install a more polished version of 12 over the beta of 12. It's purely a matter of the work, not compatibility. I'm okay waiting another couple of days if need be.

There's something more polished about the interface right off the bat, though I'm not sure exactly what it is; did the font size change? It looks very nice. I immediately started playing with the theme editor to make it "pop" a bit (I like things to be pretty vivid.) I'll be playing with it tonight.

Oddly, I do wish the icon wasn't purple. Nothing against purple, but that was 11's color. Perhaps green? Black?

There seems to be a problem logging into the Tracktion Download Manager. It keeps saying "Unable to login" message along with, "Please check your username, password and internet connection and try again."

Hmm... It's not letting me buy an upgrade.

At first, the top right of the website said "Welcome, Josh! LOGIN". Which was strange. It knew who I was but didn't consider me to be logged in. So I logged in. Now it says "Welcome, Josh! MY ACCOUNT LOGOUT" but the shopping carts still denies me.

Maybe there is some kind of super-duper-truly logged in state that is required.
