Version 12 release date?

So I load 4osc on a track. Select a preset and trying to go through more presets by pressing the right arrow and nothing. Only going left works. Latest win10 here. Anybody have this prob?

It's getting stuck when there are two presets in a row with the same name. Looks like if you upgraded from 11 the 4osc presets got doubled. So delete the ones from the user presets folder and it'll work again.

Is it me, or can I no longer drag synths/fx to a track, or even from one track to another? That's a huge usability impact for me as that's how I've done it for many years and versions of the DAW.

I’ll try it again tonight (I’m in Seattle/Pacific Time), and maybe reinstall the 30 day demo in case something went sideways. I’m using Windows 10. I still have the last (paid) version of Waveform 11.5 Pro installed.

I see the issue. In W11, plugins had no maximum size, they grew to fill all the horizontal space. In 12 they have a maximum size, and there is empty space if there is extra room. You can't drag plugins into the extra room, you have to drag next to an existing plugin.

Would it be possible to support the prior behavior of allowing drag and drop? That is, dragging into the empty area on a track should drop it to the left of whatever is currently the leftmost plugin. Wanting anything to the right of an existing plugin on the track would mean dropping it specifically like the current behavior in v12. But I could also click shift or control (forget) while dragging from one track onto the next to quickly add that plugin to another track. Basically, I didn't have to think too hard and hunt through menus because Tracktion/Waveform was so point and click. I use this capability in every session for as far back as I can remember (T5? T3?). Thanks!!

The behavior is the same, it's just that there is an extra blank space now. In WF11 you could drag to the area immediately to the left of the first plugin. In WF12 you can drag to the area immediately to the left of the first plugin (on the plus symbol). The action is the same, the surrounding visuals are not.

However, I do agree that it would feel more intuitive to be able to drop a plugin in that empty space.

Just wanted to give credit where it's due. Waveform 12 is so far a joy to work with. It's visually much sharper and a lot of issues seem to have been worked out (particularly in the latest beta - thanks for that!) The new features work really well. All things considered, it's the Waveform I was waiting for. (If only it was still called Tracktion, though

Googling info on it was so much easier when it was called Tracktion. Calling it "Waveform" is a bit like calling it "the" in terms of distinctiveness for googling. Should have stuck to the name for the DAW and changed the name of the company instead of the other way around.

It was a terrible decision! So many technical, medical, and other results while googling "Waveform 12" I don't remember, what I've been searching for, but I didn't get a single W12 related result among the others

And then there's the Waveform icon. It looks like the sort of logo that would be on the headquarters building of an evil corporation designed to genetically engineer human clone slaves in a 1960s sci-fi movie.

What really bugs me is the excuse that’s called “colour editor”. It shouldn’t be that hard to have a proper editor like the one we had until Tracktion 6.
