I received an email saying they have added polyphonic aftertouch:
"We have added Poly Aftertouch as a polyphonic modulation source.
A mod destination can now respond with individual articulation for each note, enabling more expressive performances."

Polyphonic Aftertouch has been added as a polyphonic modulation source.
The behavior of the arpeggiator has been improved to be more useful in combination with setting the note range for the synth and strings sections.
The waveforms "Atonal 3" and "Atonal 6", "FM Bass 1", "Additive 1", "Addition 2", "Bottle 3", and the one-shot sample "Bro Kick" have improved loop points for smoother looping.
Tuning of "Shaku" sample has been improved, and presets using this waveform have been updated.
PCM sample playback is now brighter.
Fixed potential crash when using LFO's in one-shot mode with Sine Wave.
"Learn" mode did not work properly when the arpeggiator was turned on.
Ctrl-Click focus feature has been fixed.

Harsh.
I think it sounds pretty good actually. Has its own character. Quite hifi.
Sounds a bit like the Korg Modwave to me.

For me, I've found quite a few presets that remind me of my old long-departed SD1-32, which isn't really surprising, since the '3 oscillators of 2 waves with a mix control' is essentially the same as the SD1's 6-wave oscillators per voice and the SQ80 had a similar architecture and is listed as one of the main inspirations.
I wouldn't call it HiFi though, it has a very 90s grungy digital sound to it to me; nice to see something not-analog that isn't a DX7 for a change, too.

Thanks for the extra info! I guess I didn't get the memo...zvenx wrote: Fri Mar 25, 2022 7:45 pmrspBuild 128 (3/22/2022)

Was that in an email or on their website?

I guess what I mean by that is that, and maybe because it uses samples, the lower end is already rolled off in some of the sounds, so it seems like it would sit on top of things well. This is the same I thought I heard when I listened to modwave demos.NikkiA wrote: Sat Mar 26, 2022 8:58 pm I wouldn't call it HiFi though, it has a very 90s grungy digital sound to it to me; nice to see something not-analog that isn't a DX7 for a change, too.
I'll probably pick this up. I personally like that pretty much everything is there on the GUI. For me it makes things much more intuitive.
Great to hear they are also listening and making quick iterations based on peoples feedback.

I really like it! Kind of a busy layout but easy to get around on. I love the focus button that allows you to zoom in on the screen. The chord memory button is also cool and very useful. Plenty of modulation options. Envelopes are nice and snappy. Filter is good. CPU can be high, but you can control that by limiting voices using MAX VOICE. Effects are useful. Plenty of good presets. It reminds me of my old Ensoniq and Roland LA synths from the 80s. And at $39, about what you would pay for a good sound pack. What's not to like?

The updated version that's out now doesn't solve the clicking for me.
It's not a loop point issue.
Start with a new preset. Turn CUTOFF low, turn the VCA ENV attack to 0, and sustain and release set to 2 or lower. Enjoy.

I never got an answer to this question - so there's that...jens wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 12:28 am This looks quite interesting, however:
TBH I can't really make any sense of that. If it isn't paraphonic divide-down, then it isn't a "classic string synthesizer" - and this highly idiosyntratic restriction aside (which makes them what they are), they are fully polyphonic, i.e. I can press all keys at once and each of them will indeed yield their note.Dreamsynth also includes a beautiful-sounding classic string synthesizer that, unlike traditional paraphonic string synths, is fully polyphonic
So this sentence puzzles me - big time.

I'm not sure if you're saying that e.g. Solina isn't a classic string synth, as it's not paraphonic, but polyphonic, and that you can "press all keys" on a paraphonic synth and all notes will play at the same time?jens wrote: Tue Apr 05, 2022 9:02 pmI never got an answer to this question - so there's that...jens wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 12:28 am This looks quite interesting, however:
