I forgot that MIDI modulator plugins are a thing, and just stuck two LFOs in. It's fun watching the joystick drift around while the synth drones.

guys can i read up or can someone if possible short explain what Wavestate does/is unique?
i read about each layer can load 1 sample but then you can change the sample morphing like wavestation but what is more enhanced?

Much much better. Thanks for the link. Now the Opsix is on my radar again - but this time the hardware. Or who am I kidding... probably both :dog: It really looks nice having hands on controls for the FM parameters.

Anyone having issues loading either one on Bitwig 4.2? I got a crash, even before Opsix had loaded. I tried it on a different DAW (Renoise) and it still crashed on me. I haven’t bothered to test Wavestate yet because I might have the same result.

tbh this is a plugin that really invites you to roll your own, made a dozen last night just exploring possibilities, esp with the waveshapers

Bitwig 4.1 - I had a crash with Opsix once (something about not being able to save state) but both running OK other than that 1 time.

I think it’s because the custom samples aren’t linking properly. I’ve contacted the author and he has responded saying he will be able to look into it shortly. I’m certain it’s something I’ve done wrong. The sounds that do work sound great.
So I solved the custom sample issue in the end. This may be obvious to some, but I've never owned a hardware Wavestate.

There is a Korg Sample Builder application available for download that allows for custom samples to be imported. I needed to open the supplied sample bank (which has the .korgbank filename extension) in that application, then choose the option to "Save Bank for Plug-in". Then I needed to open the resulting .korgcompiledbank file in the plug-in's Settings section for User Sample Bank.

This may be all clearly documented in the manual, but I couldn't actually find it on my installation...

Not a short explanation here, but this video Skippy made can explain much of it better than I could:

Come to think of it I have a Roland D-05, I wonder if its stick transmits MIDI...
On a hunch that it would work I just picked up a Korg Kontrol 49 to use with Wavestate Native.
I have some simple function working, but looks like I'm going to have to spend some time configuring. Both Wavestate and controller are new to me so seems a daunting task. Anyone have a template for the Kontrol?

I had a good scroll though the multisample for Wavestate. I can't believe how many of them there were in such a small size. It's very impressive.

I got a response from Korg in regards to my support request in which they asked me to....open a support request so I guess that's progress?

I see Dan still hasn't responded again so if anyone has any CPU or performance issues you want me to pass along to Korg then post here and I'll send it to them....assuming I get a response to the second request and they ask for more information.

If you're on Windows, the manual is here:
C:\Program Files\KORG\Sample Builder\Documentation

If you're on macOS, the manual is here:
Applications/KORG/Sample Builder/Documentation

Are you talking about extra preset packs that Korg sells, or do you mean from a third party?

Because I would assume that if there were any extra sounds that were sold by Korg, then wouldn't they be included in this synth for free, like how some of their other synths includes all of the extra sound cards which were made by Korg?
I been buying third party and even some free ones. I probably imported 400 presets from third party made for the hardware and they all play perfect no problems at all.
