Making MDrummer Dumb

Is there a way to make MDrummer only play what I've explicitly indicated in the MIDI commands? When writing I like to get my basic groove going and just loop that to work out lyrics and ideas, with MDrummer every loop results in a 1-bar intro, which completely breaks the flow. I can get around it by dragging the midi out rather than using the commands, or setting up the project with more than 4 bars, but those are both extra steps to get MDrummer to do less.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?

I tried this:
In the Song window, delete everything and then double click to add a single beat. Click loop icon.Play with the loop in the Rhythm Editor.

Hmmm, interesting. I also found out that if I deleted the MIDI region and then created a new region with the MIDI Command, it would loop as expected. It feels like there might be some sort of cache or buffer that gets "clogged".jan-sandahl wrote: Fri Apr 22, 2022 5:31 pm I tried this:

Also, in Reaper, if the song start/play cursor is at zero on the timeline, MDrummer won't stop playing when I hit transport stop button, but if I have my song start at, say, bar 3, then MDrummer obeys the stop from host.

Hmmm, I'm confused - are you saying MDrummer plays intro even if you didn't send an intro command? If so, please contact the support and send us a project that does that.

Are you using the right range of notes to trigger the patterns? I think it's C-1 to B-1. From memory, the next octave up plays a break or intro too (can't quite remember)
