I'm pleasantly surprised to learn we will be able to load one shots.
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

Good features for matching grooves to your ideas, and also for tweaking grooves to your own liking. Looking good i reckon.

I hope you're wrong, that drives me fkn bonkers with the current version.noiseboyuk wrote: Fri Apr 29, 2022 7:31 pm Looks and sounds pretty good. 2,500 midi grooves and the 3 kits mean it makes sense for SD3 owners like me who upgraded from SD2 - it’s pretty cheap for all that.
The enhanced Edit Play stuff looks very nice. The Bandmate looks pretty clever, but of course I suspect they chose files that worked particularly well. Biggest disappointment by far - I may have missed it, but looks like Tap2Find still doesn’t have different key sigs / swing controls. That’s such a no brainier, surely was easy for them to implement.
Still, I think I’m in.

m-ac - I know, right?
I've been catching up on more in the video. Really looks outstanding in so many areas. How can they have missed that? Anyway, a couple of things I'd missed is the humanisation feature in the grid editor which looks and sounds extremely slick. The other one is Bandmate - cool that you can drag in any midi, tell it roughly what sort of midi it is and it has a little sound engine to play back all the core instruments. So it's not just about importing WAVs.
I've now pre-ordered for 82 euros. That is less than the RRP of one expansion. Resistance is futile.

Did you upgrade to SD from EZ originally? It feels like a good thing to have done in retrospect, you get the discounts on both lines. The midi and 3 expansions for £60 feel all-too-easy to justify. If I'd jumped straight to the SD line, I'd have to pay the full whack for EZD3 which is a whole lot less tempting.zvenx wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 1:09 pm As a SD3 lover I am very tempted, but indeed as you realised it was 3 years between EZDrummer2 and SD3..

I have EZ Drummer 1 and SD2 which I upgraded to SD3, don't remember the order I bought it. I imagine if I had SD2, I would not have bought EZ Drummer 1 after though.
Let me go look for my invoice, but are you saying that I probably got a discount from SD2 to SD3 cause I also owned EZD1 or am I mis understanding?
edit:
(found the invoice, no additional discounts from also owning EZD1).
oh you are saying it is nice to have both lines? hmmmm

Anyone knows if and when Toontrack do sales? I’m getting interested in ED, using AD so far, and no problems, but the whole arrangement/bandmate features in ED seem way more sophisticated that AD.

You should be eligable for the upgrade price from EZD1 to EZD3. Have you logged in to the Toontrack site and checked?
If you exclusively use SDX kits in SD3 then there's not much value in EZD3. But if you also use EZX's (as I do) then upgrading for 82 euros seems well worthwhile. But you can only do that if you have also bought into the EZD line somewhere.

They're pretty sporadic and random. I suspect it will be some time til there's any discounts on EZD3.fese wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 1:36 pm Anyone knows if and when Toontrack do sales? ooh I know I am eligble for EZD1 to EZD3, I thought you were saying that when I do upgrade to SD3 (meant SD4), I get the upgrade price form SD2 and a little something extra off because I also have EZD3.noiseboyuk wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 1:52 pmWell according to what Beardy Guy says here at this time stamp:zvenx wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 1:17 pm I have EZ Drummer 1 and SD2 which I upgraded to SD3, don't remember the order I bought it. Do you mean "when I do upgrade to SD4"? I don't think they did an extra discount last time for owning both EZ and SD products, so likely no.zvenx wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 1:57 pmooh I know I am eligble for EZD1 to EZD3, I thought you were saying that when I do upgrade to SD3, I get the upgrade price form SD2 and a little something extra off because I also have EZD3.
All I was trying to say is that you get zero discounts on buying EZD3 if you only own an SD product. However if you upgraded from EZ to SD as you did, you are still an EZD owner, so you DO get that discount to EZD3.
Phew.
