The 30+1 method is probably, I think, a carrot for people who otherwise would wait till a plugin goes on sale for $50 or $40 and then use a $25 voucher. Getting people to pay 31 rather than 25 or 15 has got to be their strategy for increasing yield per customer. I suspect that at some point the discount vouchers will change or disappear.

Don't think they'll dissappear. $15 is definitely a no brainer where the threshold to buy something you don't need is very low. Can't say that for $30, I'll think twice about that number. (but I'll buy things I want immediately) where as their intro prices for the last 2 years were too high, knowing that it'll be available for 29 sooner or later, most people waited, who were not on a subscription (like me)Double Tap wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 8:23 pm The 30+1 method is probably, I think, a carrot for people who otherwise would wait till a plugin goes on sale for $50 or $40 and then use a $25 voucher. It's like Facebook and every other "growth" company, gotta maximize the amount of people signed up.
Why don't they care if we sub and cancel repeatedly? Because they're marketing themselves as having X number of subscribers to their new corporate overlords, and you just count the amount of sign ups. Investors LOVE subscribers because it turns your single transaction user into a reoccurring payment stream, theoretically increasing the average lifetime value of the customer.

They usually do ~30% off Studio One and Upgrade, then 50% off plugins and add-ons.The Noodlist wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 5:45 pm I'm holding out till Black Friday, hoping Presonus offer 50% off upgrades for its loyal customers in these difficult times. The market is bound to slump. I have 3 Pro and 5 Artist. I've upgraded in the past from the initial release.

Hej
the 50 voucher for PA doesn't seem to work on anything. Neither on 350€ plugins, nor stuff on sale.

The $50 vouchers are one time use only, probably another KVRer has used it already.LKBorg wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 5:52 pm Hej

Unlike the $25 voucher which is most of times one time per person in a month usable.

ah, damn! that explains it, thought there was a 50-for-all tier too, like the 25'er, thx!dermage wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 6:16 pmThe $50 vouchers are one time use only, probably another KVRer has used it already.LKBorg wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 5:52 pm Hej

In the days before $29 plug-ins and similar deep discounted intro offers, a Horizon or Mercury owner could recoup the WUP investment with the value of new plugins introduced that year. Assuming you were keen on re-investing in the ecosystem of course.dermage wrote: Thu Apr 28, 2022 10:14 amI do *not* want to defend PA. But Waves has only 1 activation, Waves has this crappy WUP where you pay for staying compatible instead of new features. And Waves "Shell" or whatever they call it is just another crap.
With PA plugins I have not had any problems in recent years (at least on Windows) and they don't force me to buy upgrade plans across all plugins one time a year....
Now we get an extra license with WUP, and less and less value-adds in the Horizon / Mercury tiers. WTF - Horizon was 199 this past week! Lots of my collaborators have collectively groaned over V13 forced upgrades to support M1 after years of intel and not paying WUP.

$25 PA Loyalty Vouchers now have a minimum spend of $75!
Another nail in the coffin for selling licences as no cheap ways of activating them. I guess the only time will be around the Mega Sales when they give out $20 codes with no minimum spend (unless that also changes).
