And bought... I like the sound of the Tight Room (not so much the Main and Bright Room), from their audio examples and indeed Maths-wise it makes sense.

Right before the deadline. I just ordered, so I don't miss out.
It's not often that a new EZ drummer gets released. Next one will probably be in 2028 or something.

The songwriting features seem to be worth it, and the new libraries sound great.
At full price at Thomann for $220 I can do EZD and a couple of extra EZXs, which makes the value proposition a little better for not having an EZD license anymore. (Shouldn’t have sold it a few years ago, I guess.)

I've just been playing around with this a bit more in SD3 and there are a couple of things that help. First, you can fix the meter in Tap2Find if you change the global meter at the bottom. That's good. For swing, there is a convoluted workaround. Turn off quantize in Tap2Find and play it was well as you can (!). Then you can drag that midi to the plugin timeline and open the grid editor. Then set quantize and swing values so it sounds clean. Drag that back to Tap2Find, and then voila - the search works.m-ac wrote: Sat Apr 30, 2022 12:40 pmI hope you're wrong, that drives me fkn bonkers with the current version.noiseboyuk wrote: Fri Apr 29, 2022 7:31 pm Looks and sounds pretty good. 2,500 midi grooves and the 3 kits mean it makes sense for SD3 owners like me who upgraded from SD2 - it’s pretty cheap for all that.
The enhanced Edit Play stuff looks very nice. The Bandmate looks pretty clever, but of course I suspect they chose files that worked particularly well. Biggest disappointment by far - I may have missed it, but looks like Tap2Find still doesn’t have different key sigs / swing controls. That’s such a no brainier, surely was easy for them to implement.
Still, I think I’m in.
Obviously dedicated meter and swing controls in Tap2Find itself would be better, but at least there is a clumsy way.

Wonder if you can apply the same humanize/etc functions to a whole song rather than just a clip

Well currently you can either merge clips or open multiple ones. But once you edit, it becomes one long clip. So if EZ3 behaves the same way, the answer is "sort of".hotmitts wrote: Sun May 01, 2022 12:25 pmWonder if you can apply the same humanize/etc functions to a whole song rather than just a clip

This will be available to download later on today I think.
I'm ready for it, I already deleted EZ2 from my drive to make room for the new one.

Huh - you do know that the EZD2 factory content isn't included in EZD3? And that past projects won't open as EZD3 is it's own plugin?Synth Master Jedi wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 6:08 am This will be available to download later on today I think.

If you performed a permanent delete I'd put it back quick before the servers get rammed...

When I log into my account at toontrack, I see 3 downloads waiting to go live.noiseboyuk wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 6:58 amHuh - you do know that the EZD2 factory content isn't included in EZD3? 1. EZ Drummer 3 Upgrade
2. EZ Drummer 3 Core Library
3. EZ Drummer 2 Core Library EZX
The EZ Drummer 2 Core Library is not available to download yet, so it seems as if that will go live when EZD3 goes live in some hours from now.
I don't have any past projects or anything that's critical that relies on EZD2. I don't have any use for the EZD2 interface or plugin, that's why I got rid of it.
I do still wish to have access to all of the previous kits and sounds from EZD2 of course, and I was hoping that the third download that I saw is only the library from 2 that will work in 3.

You should have EZD2 there if you own it. You better contact support if it's missing - it's nothing to do with EZD3.

I do have the EZD2 upgrade available in my account, but that's what I deleted recently, so I'm just going to wait and see exactly what the EZD2 Core Library EZX is that's going to be available soon for download.noiseboyuk wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 9:29 am You should have EZD2 there if you own it. There's a text on top of it that says May 3. I could be wrong of course, but I think that it does have something to do with EZD3.

It will likely have a small update later for compatibility, but if you've deleted it you'll have to download the whole thing again. You'll just be at the mercy of the servers!Synth Master Jedi wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 9:38 amI do have the EZD2 upgrade available in my account, but that's what I deleted recently, so I'm just going to wait and see exactly what the EZD2 Core Library EZX is that's going to be available soon for download.noiseboyuk wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 9:29 am You should have EZD2 there if you own it. Yeah, that will be the EZDrummer 2 core library for EZDrummer 3.Synth Master Jedi wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 9:38 am I do have the EZD2 upgrade available in my account, but that's what I deleted recently, so I'm just going to wait and see exactly what the EZD2 Core Library EZX is that's going to be available soon for download.

The same way as the Pop/Rock EZX is the EZDrummer 1 core library for EZDrummer 2.
All the other EZXs will probably also get updates that add new graphics for EZDrummer 3. Unless those graphics are packaged with EZDrummer 3.

Yes, you might be right that it's just a small compatibility update to make the EZD2 library compatible with EZD3. If I'm not mistaken, the old libraries will have gotten updated graphics in EZD3, but I'm not 100% certain about that.noiseboyuk wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 9:44 am It will likely have a small update later for compatibility, but if you've deleted it you'll have to download the whole thing again. It is called EZD2 Core Library EZX though, which suggests that it contains the actual sounds, but I guess that I'll find out soon enough.
I'll already be at the mercy of their servers, because you're right that their servers will probably be slammed when they open the gates later, but EZD3 is a lot bigger download than EZD2 is, so I'm not too worried about having to grab EZD2 again, if I should need to.

That sounds good to me, and it also means that there was no harm done by me by already deleting EZD2 from my system.ablerogeritem wrote: Tue May 03, 2022 9:50 am Yeah, that will be the EZDrummer 2 core library for EZDrummer 3.
