Just picked up all the 11 new Syntronik 2 instruments, as I already had Syntronik 2 Standard. €44 (including Jam Points and VAT) isn't too bad for the upgrade.

Now the fun part, getting everything installed. So far I've had to install GS-V twice and Syner-V 3 times before all the presets seemed to "stick". After the first installation, several presets would display errors about being unable to find certain files.

The installation routine goes something like this:
1. Auto install using the Product Manager
2. Load up a bunch of random presets and see if they work
3. If/when you encounter one that doesn't work, Reinstall using Product Manager
4. Check presets again
5. Download the zips manually and do a Windiff with those downloaded with the Product Manager to make sure they're the same and not corrupted
6. Manually extract each Zip and run the installers one by one

Back to the number of presets thing. There certainly is miscommunication on IKMs part here. They say XXX number of presets, but deliver YYY.

I don't think IK is being intentionally fraudulent I just think they are utterly incompetent. Either the number is incorrect or they're just not communicating properly.

The "it's the instrument presets plus the wavesets" excuse just doesn't cut it as the numbers simply don't add up.

We should all submit support tickets at the same time on the same subject to point out why not providing direct forum support on the same site where they promote their sales is inefficient and quite frankly disrespectful.

Anyway I already got a corrupted Multi that crashed Cakewalk and FL Studio. I finally managed to get it to load but it's not the way I saved it so....corrupted.

I also had a crash in FL Studio, probably with a multi only, yesterday. Not able to reproduce it again, so I will ignore it for now.

My fear is that even if we can reliably reproduce the crashes the chances for a fix are pretty slim.

Ok a little test if someone would be so kind if you have the required instruments in your collection.

This Multi:

Belishus Tek.zip

Requires:
Megawave
Galaxy
DCO-X
SY99

All of which are native Version 2 or upgraded from V1.

If you have those in your collection can you please try to load the Multi and see if loads properly?

The ST4M file shows as 2,159KB but the zip files shows 45.3 KB which seems like a pretty high compression.

Oh and the Megawave preset "Wait for It" is a semitone sharp.

*Sigh*.....I got the following crash log in FL Studio when trying to load a Multi I just created today.

The problem is that the log references Syntronik 2.dll so Image-Line support will automatically blame the plugin and mark the thread as solved if I report it to them.

Opening a support ticket with IK is such an unpleasant endeavor and I have little to no faith they will be able to understand let alone fix the issue.

To be honest FL Studio has become pretty wonky here of late but to be equally honest whenever I use an IK instrument plugin I feel like I'm beta testing it so I can't really assign blame at this point.

I did get crashes in Cakewalk when loading Multis yesterday so that would tend to point towards Syntronik 2 as the culprit. Cakewalk is normally pretty rock solid here.....

Yes, that does seem a lot of comppression.

PS Multis are xml files - you can open them in Notepad !

I have looked all over and come up empty. I can find them in Syntronik 1, but the list is blank in Syntronik 2, unless I create them.

Click the icon far left to enter the multi mode with 4 keyboards, then click 'default' below that icon, the multi menu should now open with drop down selections in different categories.

Yes, things are going to have to pick up just slightly, if we are to make it 100% to the finish line.

This is my totally non-scientific line that I drew on your chart.

It's still doable of course, we just need a few more people for the final stretch into the finish line, and there are probably still quite a few procrastinators around who haven't joined yet.

Thanks! But that's exactly what Syntronik 2 is NOT doing here. All I have is "Initialize" and "Save as". I am familiar with how this works in Syntronik 1, and I see plenty of factory multis in that one.

Thanks! It doesn't always crash though. I was able to load it and several other Multi's without a crash this afternoon so I'm not sure what's going on.

I shut the studio down so I'll have a look tomorrow. I haven't really looked for the factory Multis yet.

Here's where the custom Multis are stored (at least here on windows).

The factory Multis might be in the documents folder but all I have on this system is the free version of Syntronik because I don't have much room left on the drives.
