You are not mistaken about the extension. It has happened in the past and it will probably happen in the future too.Teksonik wrote: Wed May 04, 2022 10:45 pm I'm hoping for a last minute surge as people don't want to miss out on the deal and I might be mistaken but I seem to remember group buys being extended in the past.
I don't think it's uncommon to see certain sales in general extended these days, from all sorts of companies, not just IK. I've seen plenty of plugin deals lately where the alleged end date has been extended.

Well, as a Total Studio Max 3.5 owner, I'm glad I didn't bother to spend any money on Syntronik 2 when it came out. I only had to wait for 9 free to get the new instruments.
The synth interface macro pages are a nice touch, but they are often buggy, and best skipped. A lot just doesn't work right, but the standard edit page works fine.

Hi,
Has anyone noticed that Synthtronik 2's filter velocity control doesn't work on either the simplified edit page nor on the actual Sampletank-style Edit page. Turning up the velocity control will make the sound brighter. But it doesn't make the sound duller when you play more softly.
It's weird because the velocity control seems to act on the filter cutoff and not on the filter cutoff envelope amount as is the case on almost every synthesizer or plugin I have ever used.
Regardless, I have tried to mess with the filter cutoff, the filter velocity control, and the filter envelope amount controls but no combination seems to work.
What's odd is that the filter velocity sensitivity control on Syntronik 1 presets (that use the GUI which looks like the original hardware synth) works fine. When you play softer, the sound becomes less bright.
Is anyone else having these issues?

"Where are the Multi presets?"
Joe
Thank you! This should be plastered into tips / tricks / IKM How-tos. Im sure it's in the documentation somewhere - but thank you for solving the mystery! Be better imo, if there was a way to access in the preset browser.. but at least I can get at 'em. Cheers!SLiC wrote: Wed May 04, 2022 7:30 pm Click the icon far left to enter the multi mode with 4 keyboards, then click 'default' below that icon, the multi menu should now open with drop down selections in different categories.

I'll check out filter velocity when I fire up the studio a little later. I notice a lot of the presets don't have velocity assigned at all even for synths whose hardware version did respond to velocity.OllieBoi wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 2:40 am Has anyone noticed that Synthtronik 2's filter velocity control doesn't work on either the simplified edit page nor on the actual Sampletank-style Edit page. I asked this earlier but does anyone find the presets to be way too hot? Even the Multis I did with Syntronik 1 are way over driven now.

I see that we're at 13 free now.
But I also notice that the Syntronik Group Buy is no longer mentioned on the first page of the Promo or All News pages on the main IK site. You have to click "load more" for it to show. That might slow things down a bit.

Not sure if this is entirely what you mean, but in the mod matrix set source to velocity, destination to filter envelope depth and make sure Bip is turned on. Doesn't work if Bip is turned off.OllieBoi wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 2:40 am Hi,

On another note, I noticed that the sub oscillators are downtuned -12 rather than note shifted -12. I get way better results, when I want a sub, loading the same oscillator in a separate multi and note shifting -12 rather than using the included sub osc. I really wish they had note shifted the sub oscs rather than just downtuning them.

In either case it would require the sub-oscillators to pitch shift the existing samples down, unless there were available samples already recorded at -12.evo2slo wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 1:55 pm

Remember, Syntronik is not generating the sound sources for notes in real-time, it is playing back recorded samples.

I found them here:zzz00m wrote: Wed May 04, 2022 5:22 pm Could you be so kind as to explain where you found any Syntronik 2 factory Multis?
Because of course why wouldn't they be in the Sampletank folder....

I seem to get better results if I use Velocity to Filter Parameter 1 in the Matrix. Try this:evo2slo wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 1:55 pm

Filter Velocity Test
You'll need the Galaxy instrument.
The knobs on the synth GUI page are Bi-Polar at least for synths like the Galaxy so probably better just to zero them out and use the Matrix.
For some reason there is no velocity knob on the Filter Env on the Edit page like there is for the Amp Env.

Yes me too, in Syntronik 2 the multi preset is poor and distorded and is not on the same volume, you have a gap of 7 dBTeksonik wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 1:21 pm I asked this earlier but does anyone find the presets to be way too hot? Same on Reaper or Fl Studio and same with VST or VST3
And i have tested this on two computer!
I have reported this to IKM Support

The reason Syntronik sounds so good, and the files are so large, is because they multisampled synth oscillators across the keyboard. If you play a C1 note downtuned 12 steps it will sound very different from a C0 note. It is a different sample. Unlike some sample libraries, Syntronik does not just shift one sample across the entire keyboard. I think they sampled every note separately, or maybe every other note.zzz00m wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 2:11 pmIn either case it would require the sub-oscillators to pitch shift the existing samples down, unless there were available samples already recorded at -12.evo2slo wrote: Thu May 05, 2022 1:55 pm

Thanks!
I found my Syntronik 1 multis (*.st3m) in my SampleTank folder. I can copy these over to my Syntronik 2 Multis folder and they will open in Syntronik 2 multi mode.
However I was wondering if there were any new multis in the new Syntronik 2 format (*.st4m). The original Syntronik 1 multis are also available in the IK "My Products" section, under "Download Resources" (syntronik_multis.zip). But nothing here yet for Syntronik 2. Is a Syntronik 2 upgrade required to access them?
