Curiosity got the better of me. There wasn't an obvious way to install, but there was a reinstall option (I have the free version), so I did that just to see what would happen. Answer - it reinstalls the Intro version. Ah well. (the manual and FAQ links also point to the Intro version).Zipede wrote: Sat May 07, 2022 9:15 pm Augmented Strings & Intro are listed separately in ASC in the Explore Products section, I couldn't get it to download though.

Pro-53 is back! …Sort of. It’s now one of the built-in synths in Maschine. There’s no UI for it, but it still sounds pretty good (even if it’s not the most authentic emulation).Flip64 wrote: Tue Apr 19, 2022 3:27 pm Maybe to differentiate it from NI's Pro 5 which was a big thing when Arturia's was introduced. Hard to believe now, since NI killed it off years ago...but it was THE go to Prophet 5 emulation. And the only one (then), of course.

I’m sure I posted the same comment earlier, but for those who didn’t read the whole thread, I’m still hoping for a full rewrite of CS-80 V. The actual hardware sounds fabulous, and no plugin has done it justice yet.

The only addition to V9 that really interests me is the reworked CS-80. I don't really care about the MS-20 to be honest, and even if I did I could pick up the Cherry Audio version for really cheap... u-he Repro already covers my Prophet 5 needs, so the new Arturia version of that one isn't that interesting to me either.
Also, I'm participating in the current IK Multimedia Syntronik sale which means that for only € 42,34 I've got myself some great renditions of the CS-80, Prophet 5 & VS, and a LOT more classic synths. These are obviously sampled instruments, but have a great sound quality nonetheless.
I have V Collection 8 and SQ-80 and I do want V9, but I expect the upgrade price to V9 for me to be something like € 199,00 anyway. Which means I'll patiently wait for the Black Friday sale

Good to know that the augmented series has an upgraded version. Out of the whole package, I wonder how well the new arturia piano engine will stack up against pianoteq.

SQ8L isn't working for me in Ableton, so I'm glad that arturia got that included now.electro wrote: Sun May 08, 2022 10:09 am Why would Arturia want to rehash a Prophet 5 already perfected by U-he? And the freeware SQ8L is still a more accurate model than the SQ80V?

I guess there's always enough money to be made for developers with the big synths from the past like Minimoog, Jupiter and Prophet, just because of their sheer popularity. Even if they've been done before many many times... look for example at Cherry Audio with their recent Minimoog emulationelectro wrote: Sun May 08, 2022 10:09 am Why would Arturia want to rehash a Prophet 5 already perfected by U-he?
And in Arturia's case, if they improve their Prophet V, they can obviously be a better competitor to u-he.

isnt the KORG MS20 already from Korg well enough as a vst? i dunno so maybe someone can tell the experience?
i would be more excited for synths which arent as vst available instead of their own versions, sure can do why not, it is their products but i think it is a missed opportunity.

Better they have a good Prophet than a bad one...electro wrote: Sun May 08, 2022 10:09 am Why would Arturia want to rehash a Prophet 5 already perfected by U-he? And the freeware SQ8L is still a more accurate model than the SQ80V?
Because of Analog Lab, I guess many people would find a sound they like first and then edit whatever synth it came from. That's one of the great strengths of the Arturia ecosystem that they have over other piecemeal competitors. Some people think synth-first, others sound-first.

Just updated to v8 from v6 after 2 years of hiatus - 2 weeks ago…
I have sq80 as a separate purchase as well.
I wonder what my upgrade price to v9 will be?

It can be much better, hopefully Arturia keeps getting closer to the source of all of their emulations.

I was working with support a few months back on the awful load times I experience on my particular Windows PC (Mac is fast). Glad to see "improved load times" on the list.
I think this is a decent upgrade. The CS80 needed a full redo, and their Prophets were umm "not good" along with that modeled piano. Add in a new MS20 and this is a good upgrade for me. I usually wait until a big sale, but I may go day one on this.
