Welcome back man!pdxindy wrote: Tue May 10, 2022 4:37 pmI use the Bitwig Instruments including the Grid a lot so this has plenty of useful new stuff for me. The filter improvements are solid. Updated envelopes, and the Convolution and Delay+ sound excellent. Really cool to just drag any audio into the Convolution device!_leras wrote: Tue May 10, 2022 3:15 pm 4.0 or 4.1 were more natural points to renew a plan for sure. I might not upgrade for a delay/verb, but there are other improvements as well.
I like that keep making incremental updates.
And that is a solid overall changelog for just 3 months since 4.2
Bitwig 4.3 announced 'space and tone' - a new reverb and delay...

Thanks...
Wont be for long though. The announcement (and beta) of 4.3 was too much to pass up!

Did they expect something about MSEG? (sorry I don't know much)

Version 4.0 was announced at the end of May last year. So within a 12 month span, has been 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 and now 4.3. I'm pleased with that pace of updates (the previous year was slower, maybe due to Covid and also the work of switching to Apple Silicon).
Add them all together and that is a lot for a year!

If you upgraded at 4 beta, you should have received 4.2 then. IIRC, 4.0 was announced end of May last year. It has still not quite been a year since we first got 4.0 beta.SLiC wrote: Tue May 10, 2022 7:37 pm I upgraded at 4 beta (probably like a lot of people) so and I only got got 4.1 in my free upgrade year...luck of the draw I guess...still, not minded missing 4.2 or 4.3 and I will great great vale when I do step back in!
4.0 was released in mid July. So if someone activated their account when 4.0 was released, they will have received 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 before 12 months (4.3 will for sure be released before mid July)

I'm still holding onto an unused upgrade license I purchased last year. I have no plans on activating it until we at least get MIDI comping. I may end up selling it if it seems like I have to wait much longer for it to materialize. At the moment I'm using Nuendo 12 as my primary DAW and I'm actually thinking about using it exclusively. Time will tell.

didn't think we needed more delay, but the freeze does look interesting. I wonder if there's any reason to use it over Delay-4 though? The convolution does look awesome, I was just looking for a convolver yesterday!

Freezing, Ducking and a much easier / faster / cleaner way to get Ping Pong effects are just three reasons why...Diomede18618 wrote: Tue May 10, 2022 10:15 pm didn't think we needed more delay, but the freeze does look interesting. I wonder if there's any reason to use it over Delay-4 though?

The modulation options for the repeats are really, really nice on the new one. I haven't even tried to send Bitwig modulators to the parameters yet, just enjoying the variety of spacy tones so far. If this was a pedal it'd be hyped as hell imho.

Why update for 4 beta? Wasn't that available to you without or couldn't you hold out for 4 or 4.1SLiC wrote: Tue May 10, 2022 7:37 pm I upgraded at 4 beta (probably like a lot of people) so and I only got got 4.1 in my free upgrade year...luck of the draw I guess...still, not minded missing 4.2 or 4.3 and I will great great vale when I do step back in!

And of course, you can add plugins into the feedback loop as well.

Workflow-wise, there isn't much that I needed....
But convolution reverb looks nice tho. Finally I can ditch lame, expensive 3rd party for this thing.

I also didn't think we needed another Delay, but Delay+ is excellent. Some useful capabilities. Besides the mention of freezing, ducking and ping pong, there are also the controls in the Inspector. Repitch or Fade gives some cool possibilities using the Update rate. Delay time can go below 10ms unlike the other delays. And there are the Blur modes which sound lovely. All combined make it fast and easy to get lovely results.Diomede18618 wrote: Tue May 10, 2022 10:15 pm didn't think we needed more delay, but the freeze does look interesting.
