I think you've definitely put me off having any Sampletank stuff separately!Teksonik wrote: Mon May 30, 2022 12:47 pmThat's what has happened here. Missing samples causes several DAWs to crash. But then I've gotten several crashes when just trying to load a Multi that does not have any missing samples so....Flip64 wrote: Mon May 30, 2022 11:08 am So maybe missing samples has something to do with it and instead of getting an error message, it just crashes...
If IK had just set one single sample folder like Public Documents/IK Multimedia/Samples instead of putting things in Sampletank 3, Sampletank 4, Syntronik 1, Syntronik 2, Imported Samples, etc etc etc folders things would have gone a lot smoother over the years.
I have to have duplicate samples in two locations just so ST 3 and 4 can both find them.
I think a lot of the issues we've seen reported in this thread could have been mitigated with a less sloppy installation scheme over the years.
My crashing multi is fixed now I've copied across the Syner V samples the installer missed. I can understand their file hierarchy to a point - each instrument having its own folders under the instrument name - but I have no clue if samples from any other instrument are missing, until I come across a preset that won't load.
It's a nice instrument though - as long as I see it as a large collection of analogue synth samples that can be edited in various ways, rather than "emulations of old instruments" like Korg, Roland or Arturia.
