I caved, but I'm an absolute sucker for delays. I don't mind that it wasn't folded into Relayer as they're different enough to each serve a purpose. Reasonable intro price, sounds great just tweaking the presets and easy to use... pretty quick decision for me. I like what the tape saturation is doing.

I'm sure people can point to other delays that can do the same or similar (I no doubt have some of them) or who was first with what feature, but it's fun (for me anyway) to get inspired by something new. I can't see any big regrets later on for the price.

In the product video he talks about automating stuff for achieving great results - well, good point, but why then (if they already know darn well themselves that modulating these parameters can be quite fruitful) didn't they not include at least a basic modulation section (say a single freely-asignable LFO)? :?
Perfectly valid point. I guess I didn't even consider this myself since using Bitwig it's not an issue. If you can automate it, then you can modulate it, but I totally get that it should have some additional modulation for other DAW's. I'd also like to see a randomization option that could be limited and/or scope to specific options.

It's easy to ignore delays these days. There are so many of them. Too many. But it'd be a mistake in this case. It sounds great. Simple controls, but very "musical" IMO. Well done UVI.

I agree with the comments below though.. a way to modulate the controls, even with some basic LFO's, would help take it to the next level..

You would have thought something like the modulation in Shade would make sense also for a delay plugin - it would have been nice to see a more advanced version of Relayer with alternative topologies and Shade's modulation all built in

Yeah okay but it's been done before and I think UVI wants to come up with something more immediate.
If they redo the same ergonomics, the products become competitors .

Yeah, I well understand that they probably wanted to keep it relatively simple for this one, which is why I said one (more or less) freely asignable LFO would already be great. The preset-name field on top is super-wide - if they made it a little narrower one (or perhaps even two) LFO(s) would fit easily left from the mix-knob (Depth, Speed, dropdown for target). I don't think this would increase the general complexity of the plugin.

(let's lament the lost art of beta-testing)

What is your source of info?

That looks great! With the same kind of neat pop-up they could introduce modulation likewise with just a simple icon on the title bar.

Those are really two different delays in terms of topology.
Relayer is a multi tap delay with dedicated FX chains on each tap while DDX is a feedback dual stereo delay with a focus on shaping the feedback path to obtain, coloured, spatial and lush sounds.
Yes, so combine them.
I'm meditating on which of both it is more: impossibe or pointless...

Yeah, totally agree. Even a single, simple LFO with the most basic waveforms could take this delay to another level. But, the ducking is nice and welcome addition. :tu:

Hmm...I like the look of it. Simple, obvious controls and most parameters I'd want on a delay. What does dispersion do? And more importantly...it's not iLok is it? I might have to demo it...Great price.

OK, had a look on their site. Sadly no sale for me. There are plenty of other delays out there. It's infected with PACE . :(

All UVI stuff is iLok unfortunately
