Well maybe it wasnt your claim. I cant find the quote right now. Anyway I let's try to be constructive. I took the next example from the top. D-fusion is a very good example but because I mentioned the word "plugin" you just take that out of the context and now claim there isnt any issue because he also sells plugins. Then re-read my post.
Im not obligated to make an empirical research from every post here to argue even though you would probably not be satisfied even if it was a scientific research team that found there was an issue.
No whatever you're talking about wasn't my claim.

I didn't take anything you said out of context - I looked at the facts. D-fused seems to me to be a pretty bad example because the last four posts they've made have all had plugins in them, and some of them don't seem to have any non-plugins at all. From each of their last four posts I can find at or near the top of the list: Nomad Factory BlueVerb DRV-2080, a reverb. Chromaphone I'm sure you know. Pulsar Audio's Mu, a compressor. Xhun Audio Kickbeat, a drum synth. Plus a bunch of AAS synths and Air Music Tech plugins*.

And I would be entirely satisfied if you bothered to add up posts from the last seven days - that's why I suggested it. I appreciate your intention to be constructive, but that should also include an assumption that people are arguing in good faith.

The problem is that you have put forward the idea that the reason the No chat thread feels cluttered is because of people posting about presets and sample packs. I assumed that was true until I actually checked. As a result, I don't think it is true, and I think that if you actually look through them you'll realise that isn't what annoys you.

*I have a different problem with D-fused, which is that they have 45 posts and a website that gives no physical address and no name of anyone connected with it, all of which are red flags to me - but we're talking about a different thing, which is a rule in the No chat thread saying that no one can post deals about presets, which would not stop someone like D-fused posting here.

I doubt the serials will qualify us for version 2 of the plugins but we may get an upgrade path.
Either way for $8.13 or especially $3.22 it's a great deal even for version 1 of the two plugins
That's why I passed. Plus I should check and see if I have them already.
I just received the package from GC and it does indeed qualify us for version 2 of the plugins. I've registered the serial in my D-16 account, downloaded and authorized Syntorus2, off to install Fazortan 2 next .

The images on the GC site were simply outdated. They show version 1 of the plugins.

So for $8.13 or less without shipping this is a great deal for two D-16 Fx plugins. :tu:

I will admit that it's not so black and white as I might presented it at first. D-fused did post a lot of presets and samples like a month/two months ago repeatedly and that's apparently their main business when you read their website. So I might took it for granted that the last posts was the usual stuff. Some of this took me by surprise.

In general what I find extremely annoying is the same kind of niche advertisement that get's posted repeatedly over weeks where the sale more like a standard price.
Rast Sound is another advertiser that annoys me. Its advertisement of the same kind of stuff over and over. The seller and the developer is the same and its a small business (I assume). So when this seller posts bargains with discounts of €20 in several posts with a few days interval and the same libraries goes on sale again and again I highly doubt that it's beneficial for the majority.
I can understand a big company like IK Multimedia with a huge variety of plugins and hardware posting their stuff from time to time because there's a demand. But the same small niche developers posting the same stuff over and over can't have a demand that justify the frequency of posting.

Maybe there should be a thread with resellers and a thread with small and large vendors for advertisement/bargains.

Hans25 wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 8:46 pm Well as long as you don't understand the difference between majority and minority it must be very hard to understand the benefit.
I understand that 18 thumbs up or some two year old Poll doesn't constitute a "majority" today. Most likely the majority don't care one way or the other because they have the skill to scroll past a post they aren't interested in.
Hans25 wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 8:46 pmWe are here even though a poll two years ago showed that presets should have a seperate thread - that actually happened but suddenly someone removed it.
So take the hint. If in two years things haven't changed then just accept it and move on. Bottom line is even two years later we've all survived just fine with things the way they are.
Hans25 wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 8:46 pmIf Sound designers didn't spam the bargain thread with the same sales over and over all the time then it wouldn't be a problem. Its not because they are sound designers. Its because of their behavior.
I'm not seeing any evidence of what you're claiming. If you've got something against a particular poster then as I said report them to the Mods and Ben and let them determine if action is warranted. Or man up and send the offender a PM and explain your case.
Hans25 wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 8:46 pmBut if you want to take your equality argument further then why not let every second hand seller post their sales in the bargains thread instead of having separate threads below?
That's ridiculous but you've answered yourself. Second hand sellers are different than people who own a business and are selling a product, whether that business is a retail shop or a sound design business.

Even people who don't own a business and who post deals they have discovered elsewhere don't link to second hand sales in the buy/sell forum. That would be pointless.
Hans25 wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 8:46 pmYes and in two posts back from here I explained the difference between the resellers and the preset posts and why they are totally different as I see it.
There's the crux of the matter....as you see it. Not everyone sees it the same way and not everybody thinks this is something even worth worrying about.

Again it's much ado about nothing.

Yes for $3.18 this is the text book definition of a no-brainer. :D

I'm sorry, I've lost track of who first brought up the deal but thanks to them for spotting it. :tu:

Guys, My Bitwig plan has just expired few days ago and I want to buy the upgrade plan of Bitwig 4 ($129 NOW). But I tried JRR and it seemed like it didn't accept the discount code "auto". May I know is it not having any discount any more?

No longer eligible it seems, so ask Uncle E if this is deliberate.

Teksonik wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 8:40 pm I find Uncle E's highly frequent and often overly long JRR Shop posts to be somewhat over the top.
My posts generally have three formats:

1. Many different sales in the same post, consisting of the deal and link.
2. Single product post with the deal, the link, and a paragraph description.
3. Big sale post with many products from a single manufacturer.

Which do you prefer? #1 tends to be very long but allows me to post less frequently. #2 could easily be formatted more tightly if it's a matter of reducing scrolling. #3 I'll stop doing, I'll just post the highlights moving forward.

Hi guys, first of all I want to reply to someone who said that there are no names on our site, my name is Giorgio Lamanna, nice to meet you. D-Fused Sounds is on the web from more that 11 years (I personally make music from 25 years),when there still was Sounds To Sample, then moved on Beatport Sounds (who knows the story, know why); as someone posted , we are music passionates first of all, some of us are also ghost producers that work with artists around the world, some is passionate about graphic arts, this makes understand that music is our life. If you take a look on the web we are also distributed by a lot of respectable samples stores (we are also on KVR store and we thanks them for this opportunity). We are now growing our platform including plugins, kontakt , cover arts .....and to do this (as any seller) there is a need to advertise (and we thanks again KVR for give us this space), so we do this in the Bargain section that is made specifically for this isn'it? Then if us, or others shops start 10 different post with different offers , that's because there are things behind it that only by being in you can understand (we can't post offers before they came out for example).
The most curious thing however is that when we post FREE presets for RC20, who knows why nobody says anything and we have 1793 downloads for it, 981 for the FREE MIDI files or 644 for the FREE Presets for Saturn2, and really few people give us a like (that which is FREE too but we don't take care, its a pleasur for us). Now if you find our posts in the Bargain section annoying, skip that section, but understand that there are also people insterested in those posts so they decide what is the best store for them to purchase.
That said, I don't want to be offensive towards anyone, I just want you to understand that if KVR gives us this chance, we thank KVR and use the Bargain Section, and simply, if you don't want to see our posts, skip this section or at least our posts, simple, not?

Seriously , you dont have to do this. There's basically one guy here dragging this issue and refuses to look at the specific posts but lumps everything he doesnt like into spam. MOST people know how to scroll. Dont apologize for being passionate about what you do
