D-Fused Sounds wrote: Sat Jul 23, 2022 8:45 am Hi guys, first of all I want to reply to someone who said that there are no names on our site, my name is Giorgio Lamanna, nice to meet you. D-Fused Sounds is on the web from more that 11 years (I personally make music from 25 years),when there still was Sounds To Sample, then moved on Beatport Sounds (who knows the story, know why); as someone posted , we are music passionates first of all, some of us are also ghost producers that work with artists around the world, some is passionate about graphic arts, this makes understand that music is our life. If you take a look on the web we are also distributed by a lot of respectable samples stores (we are also on KVR store and we thanks them for this opportunity). We are now growing our platform including plugins, kontakt , cover arts .....and to do this (as any seller) there is a need to advertise (and we thanks again KVR for give us this space), so we do this in the Bargain section that is made specifically for this isn'it? Then if us, or others shops start 10 different post with different offers , that's because there are things behind it that only by being in you can understand (we can't post offers before they came out for example).
The most curious thing however is that when we post FREE presets for RC20, who knows why nobody says anything and we have 1793 downloads for it, 981 for the FREE MIDI files or 644 for the FREE Presets for Saturn2, and really few people give us a like (that which is FREE too but we don't take care, its a pleasur for us). Now if you find our posts in the Bargain section annoying, skip that section, but understand that there are also people insterested in those posts so they decide what is the best store for them to purchase.
That said, I don't want to be offensive towards anyone, I just want you to understand that if KVR gives us this chance, we thank KVR and use the Bargain Section, and simply, if you don't want to see our posts, skip this section or at least our posts, simple, not?
Hi Giorgio, I was the one who mentioned that there are no names on your website. Glad to hear you have a longer history than just this year.

To me, if a website doesn't include details like a physical address, or the name of a company on a register (like Companies House in the UK) or the names of the people who run it which I can check have some sort of presence online, then I am suspicious about it, because there are sometimes scam websites that crop up claiming to sell music software which do this. Or sometimes they are not scams, but they are not long term businesses and if something goes wrong then there's no way of tracing them. But I'm glad you have given us some information about your business and good luck with it - I will check it out with more confidence now.
Hans25 wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 11:15 pm I will admit that it's not so black and white as I might presented it at first. D-fused did post a lot of presets and samples like a month/two months ago repeatedly and that's apparently their main business when you read their website. So I might took it for granted that the last posts was the usual stuff. Some of this took me by surprise.

In general what I find extremely annoying is the same kind of niche advertisement that get's posted repeatedly over weeks where the sale more like a standard price.
Rast Sound is another advertiser that annoys me. Its advertisement of the same kind of stuff over and over. The seller and the developer is the same and its a small business (I assume). So when this seller posts bargains with discounts of €20 in several posts with a few days interval and the same libraries goes on sale again and again I highly doubt that it's beneficial for the majority.
I can understand a big company like IK Multimedia with a huge variety of plugins and hardware posting their stuff from time to time because there's a demand. But the same small niche developers posting the same stuff over and over can't have a demand that justify the frequency of posting.

Maybe there should be a thread with resellers and a thread with small and large vendors for advertisement/bargains.
I think this discussion has gone on long enough now and I don't want to prolong it but thanks for re-examining what was actually at the heart of your complaint and articulating it more clearly.

Apologies to everyone else for clogging up the thread with our discussion.

Teksonik wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 8:40 pm I find Uncle E's highly frequent and often overly long JRR Shop posts to be somewhat over the top.
My posts generally have three formats:
1. Many different sales in the same post, consisting of the deal and link.
2. Single product post with the deal, the link, and a paragraph description.
3. Big sale post with many products from a single manufacturer.
Which do you prefer? #1 tends to be very long but allows me to post less frequently. #2 could easily be formatted more tightly if it's a matter of reducing scrolling. #3 I'll stop doing, I'll just post the highlights moving forward.
Oh don't worry about me I can simply glance over any post and scroll on. Don't change anything for me, just do what you think is best. :tu:

I was just making a point to the people who complain about a few short posts from sound designers.

It’s ok. I think you made a good point, certainly about #3.

I don't agree. But we could probably discuss this the next 10 page without agreeing on anything.

There's basically one guy here dragging this issue and refuses to look at the specific posts but lumps everything he doesnt like into spam. MOST people know how to scroll. Dont apologize for being passionate about what you do
Basically it's not just "one guy". Others agreed too. Don't pretend to represent KVR as a whole and speak on every member's behalf.
That said I have nothing personal against this man from d-Fusion.

Well thanks for leading the way and having a sober way of arguing.

You've got a lot of nerve posting this..never have I pretended to speak for anyone. I certainly didn't act like 18 thumbs up was a "large majority ". Learn how to scroll...its not hard

Well I could go on and argue further but since the discussion is taking a direction that doesn't have any relevance to the original subject no one else have could have interest in this. So lets just stop.

Post

I unsubscribed from all these dealers email because of the endless repetitions of cyclic "deals" that really weren't worth the discount. And shortly thereafter, they turned these threads into an endless "click-bait" fest.
Makes me wonder if every one else did a mass exodus from their email as well.

Because of those vendors, I rarely even look at these threads now. Whereas I used to check them daily. .

And to suggest to the vendors that their posts are better IMO when they're product specific without the mfg blurb attached but a one line synopsis at most.

I also feel like any vendor using the term "up to __%" should receive a 48hr suspension since it turns the whole post into the same email spam I unsubscribed from them to begin with.
I really don't think anything that's at least not 33% off is worth the post space here. But I don't expect any of it to change. So I just open these threads less and scroll, disregard, or ignore.
These vendor posts have had the exact opposite effect on me than they wanted. Thanks for stifling my GAS.

Post

Similar feelings here. I have a very quiet email account now and use Reddit and some websites to stay informed. In addition, I stopped purchasing stuff and started to use what I have. :)

Perhaps I will change... become a better GAS person... collector again, not producer. But at the moment... no. Still enjoying KVR, though.

Post

I had a nightmare where I lost my GAS.
Woke up and quickly checked KVR to for the big discount deals.
Then made some purchases.
Feel better already.
