It's not an easy task to have the myriad of 32-bit plugins and several different hosts work well together by means of a vst-bridge.
Does anyone know which bridging solution works most reliably?

The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

I tried it today to load VB3. it loads fine, but the GUI is moved out of screen and I can't click on it. But it should be some v1 bug, I hope that it will be solved soon.

32- TO 64-BIT AUDIO UNITS AND VST PLUG-INS ADAPTER
32 LIVES is a transparent 32-bit to 64-bit Audio Units and VST plug-ins adapter which enables you to run your favorite 32-bit-only plug-ins, such as Vanguard, VB3 and TC PowerCore plug-ins, in your latest 64-bit DAW.
There are no additional windows to open and no redundant routings to make. Your favorite 32-bit plug-ins will appear in your 64-bit DAW as if they were native 64-bit plug-ins.
32 LIVES is compatible with virtually all 64-bit Audio Units and VST host applications, including Logic Pro X, Cubase, Ableton Live and Studio One.

Yep, that's what I thought, it would be "too good to be true" ...I was curious because it stated it's "world's first", but that's a marketing trick I guess...topaz wrote:Cross platform usually means Mac and PC versions.
trancema wrote:Wait, did I misunderstood this ? It says world's first "a universal, crossplatform bit bridging solution." (on their website)hivkorn wrote:...
Enter Bridgewize: the world’s first bit bridging application that covers both VST and AU plugins on Mac, and of course VST plugins on Windows. It uses the same proprietary wrapping technique that has already been successfully introduced with Metaplugin3, but now in a dedicated standalone package that allows you to selectively create seamlessly bridged versions of your favourite 32 bit babies.
...
Does that mean that I can use Windows' VSTs on Mac and vice versa ? (it would be too good to be true)
So, I guess, after all I'll never see my favorite - SQ8L on OSX
I am already using 32Lives and it works perfectly, though it's on expensive side.

technically, it is possible - just not that easydocdued wrote:It is not possible, however, to load Windows VSTs in a Mac host or vice versa.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Hello,
many thanks for Bridgewize. I have some questions (I'm mainly interested in Windows VST bridging):
1) does it support host automation to bridged plugins?
2) does it support host time/clock information to bridged plugins?
3) does it support also midi out from instrument bridged plugins?
4) does it support variable size VST plugin windows (like Reaktor, Bidule, Kontakt, Roland Cloud, etc.)?
5) will you update regularly Bridgewize in order to improve compatibility with hosted plugins?
6) are you thinking in doing also a 64-to-32 bridge solution (as jBridge does)? I know this feature could have less market interest, but I have old installations of DAWs (mainly 32 bit on 64 bit OS) which benefit from 64-to-32 bit bridging (mainly Kontakt and Omnisphere).
BTW, many thanks indeed for the idea of making a bridge, overcoming the limitations of modern DAWs and preserving our investments in older but useful plugins.

On Mac it puts the wrapped plugins in a folder I don’t use - can I move them?

I know I'm late to the party but can we get 64bit bridging in 32 but host. I use MetaPlugin for this but would love if bridgewize could do this. It's much more stable than jbridge

Ditto , i'd like 64 to 32 bit bridging with cc available into the host if possible and working drop-down menus unlike jbridge.
I 'd buy superplugin for that but usually i just want a single plugin and no extra screens or clicks ... straight to the plugin gui ...or sometimes a dual band split like sigmod does (which i already have) .
If pricing policy is an issue maybe you could include this functionality in superplugin by including bridgewize working both ways 32 to 64 and vice versa, vst3 to vst2 as well - something that jbridge doesn't do!

I DID - avoid it at least if you are using Cubase Pro12 as me: DDMF BridgeWize is the worst bridger ever: any plug I bridge, it immediately freezes Cubase Pro 12 as soon as I insert such plug into C12 fx slot - useless!Timfonie wrote: Mon Apr 09, 2018 11:31 pm Did anyone try Bridgewize? Is it even more stable than jBridge (which I like very much) ?
I understand those who switched to x64 all the way. Yet I also understand those who would like to have at least the option to run any of the hundreds of great 'legacy' 32bit plugins. Is 32bit legacy these days? Or is it still going strong, relevant and only in a minor way becomming less practical and relevant than x64?
jBridge (v1.74 here) is the better in this regard: it is able to bridge even the oldest 32bit plugs from like year 200, really. For me it was able bridging everything, INCLUDING OLD MB PLUGS, like the one for subbass, I am using it constantly with no issue whatsoever.
In my point of view, the best ever is most definitely internal bridger of FLStudio (it is able to bridge ABSOLUTELY ANY AND ALL 32BIT PLUGS!!!), unfortunately, they did not released it as standalone app, it is only inside the FLStudio...so yea, jBridger is the way to go!
