I put two songs in my music website, though I think the song on top ("In A Spirit Realm"), would interest you the most since it has some ZebraHZ synth and a bunch of Presswerk compression. Please tell me how you like the music and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor. Here is my link:

Hi, this is really well put together, the strong bassline surrounded by an array of interesting percussion hits, keys and whistles, in an ambient cohesive soundstage.
Each nook and cranny filled, without in-fighting. Another nice guitar part, albeit a few minutes too short
Are you a Dave Simpson fan? Your guitar work shares some similarities, you might enjoy this, the guitar jam starts after his traditional greetings...and description of Cici's cool guitar:

glokraw,
Thank you for reviewing my song, I appreciate it! As far as I know, Todd Krause (I've known him for several decades) still works in Fender's Custom Shop. He makes/made very expensive Eric Clapton and David Gilmore Strat reproductions. Wasn't familiar with Dave Simpson until I watched his video. He plays well, so I will take that as a compliment! OK, let me see if I can find a newer song of yours, and........see my next post.

glokraw,
Now listening to "Window Shopping"; I don't think I have reviewed this yet. I like the pleasant synth sound with all of the stereo delay. Quite relaxing. I like it!

Glad you found one you like, hope it wasn't a long search!
! I try to choose cover-photos that are relevant to the music. A couple tunes in the same vein, 'Breath Softly In The Snow' tries to capture the randomness of snowflakes, while remaining musical, along with the beauty of nightime snow in lighted areas. 'Sugar And Spice' tries to capture the delights of an old-time confectioner's shop, where the treats are not mass-produced and bagged in computer driven factories. Both try to breath some innocense back into our tightly wound societies.
A bit off-topic, I started a thread 'Do You enjoy listening to your finished recordings?' in the Everything Else forum. Some famous pros have stated they never listen to their own music...made me curious how the masses here feel.

Here's a tune made a while back (I found a sizeable collection of my older U-he-based tunes on a backup drive
) with Zebra-Almost3 doing the synth sounds, and some subtle rythym backing made with Nolwenn's Synth1 Gated Choir preset (We are so blessed with sonic riches!)

I really enjoyed this one - it's so unlike anything I would think of writing, which already makes it fascinating. There's something about that strident lead and the more subdued stuff going on in the background combined with the chord progression that made it feel very nostalgic for me.glokraw wrote: Fri Sep 09, 2022 12:20 am Here's a tune made a while back (I found a sizeable collection of my older U-he-based tunes on a backup drive) with Zebra-Almost3 doing the synth sounds, and some subtle rythym backing made with Nolwenn's Synth1 Gated Choir preset (We are so blessed with sonic riches!)
My contribution to this thread is a much simpler piece using only Hive. In the past I created some kind of issue for myself thinking that I should only use patches that I made myself, but thankfully I let go of that and decided to tweak some presets. This track is completely Hive, but other's in the same playlist combine Hive with other plugins like Pianoteq and Spicy Guitar.

The sounds you've used are a nice 'hook', would be a good theme for a TV series. Successful "simplicity" is a skill not easily aquired these days. I love the high notes slowly tailing off over the lower rumblings, with some nicely resolved dissonance as a rythym is introduced. Also, your other pieces with the Kawai piano are very nice. Such things are all new to me, as I 'don't get out much'
The ability to cover modern classics, while creating new ones, is it's own nice reward. (Thanks for taking time to share your thoughts on my tune, much appreciated)
Cheers

I just listened to this - it's really impressive work! I find it hard to imagine organising 100 instances/tracks! It's been a while since I last saw any of the trilogy, but from what I remember it sounds just like the original!TENETfanboy wrote: Thu Jul 21, 2022 5:47 am To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Dark Knight Rises releasing I remade over 20 minutes of music from across the three films, in total there’s about 100 instances of ZebraHZ used in it!!

@glokraw
Thanks for such nice feedback! I really had to work on the simplicity, as I tend to be drawn to more complex music. It was a nice learning experience. Same with the performances - I much prefer writing and recording, but making videos forces me to learn a bit more about performance.

I posted two songs: “Filled With Danger” (the song on top): you would probably be more interested in that since it has some ZebraHZ, Hive 2, and some non-u-he synths; has a lot of Presswerk compression. Please tell me how you like the music and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor (leave me a link). Here is my link:

aaron, I enjoyed Filled With Danger. I can't offer much feedback in terms of production/mixing quality other than it sounded great. I really liked how the synth solos were darker than the rest of the song, especially the judicious use of the b5.

nick_op,
Glad you liked "Filled With Danger"! Thank you for listening and commenting! Now I am listening to your most recent song ("Safe Space"). Audio quality is very good. The song is mostly relaxing, but also has an element of danger to it (despite the song title). It could be used in an underwater movie where sharks are lurking around nearby. I liked it!
